Maurice A. Jackson, Jr. answered God's call on Monday, October 2, 2017, at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He was born May 10, 1940, in Frederick, MD, to the late Maurice A. and Myrtle Beaner Jackson. He was the husband to Willis Weedon Jackson for 57 years, and they were blessed with one lovely daughter from this union, Vonda J. Ambush.
Maurice was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Maryland School for Deaf for 44 years. Additionally, he was a faithful and committed volunteer at the Weinberg Center for the Arts for over 20 years. Maurice enjoyed life to the fullest and was known by his family and friends for his joyful smile and laughter. His family, friends and associates will truly miss him.
Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by: daughter, Marlene Billups; grandchildren; great grand-children; sister, Mary Frances Weedon; brother in-law, Noonan R. Weedon; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice A. Jackson; stepmother, Myrtine Jackson; sisters, Mildred Jackson, Elizabeth Williams, and Cora Henderson; and brother, Joseph Beaner.
Funeral services will be held this Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church located at 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD 21703. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. and services will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the interment at Fairview Cemetery. I remember when me and my dad and my twin sister went to the store and we used see you in the store playing numbers and you used to always ask us "GIRLS DO YOU GUYS WANT SOMETHING".... " I WILL BUY It FOR YOU"..... OR you used to ask us "HOW HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN" ... YOU WILL TRULY BE MISSED BY EVERYONE AND I WILL SEE YOU AT THE GOLDEN GATES OF HEAVEN AND I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOON.
