I knew Johnny for many years. I worked and raced at Bill Wilcom's 75-80 as a substitute announcer and ran the ET Cards at the end of the strip in the 1960's.
I also had a 1962 blown and injected Corvette and we would race every Wednesday nite or Sunday/Sat nite.
He was always helping me fine tune it. Always a gentleman and unselfish with his knowledge of engines and racing.
Top name drag racers from all over the East would come in just to talk and race with Johnny. "Mr. Stitches" was always available. Ronnie Sox was his greatest admirer and always stopped by when racing in the area to swap tales.
Rest in Piece My Brother! We will meet and race again soon.

I grew up a few doors down the street from Johnny. I used to play with his daughters Candy and Nikki. My Dad, Skip Burke, was good friends with him. I remember Johnny's car Mr Stitches. Johnny was always so nice to me. God bless him and his family.
