Mary Esther Poole Rippeon, 85 years old, of Frederick, MD, passed on to her Heavenly home on Sunday, October 22. She had most recently been a resident at Vindobona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Otis N. Rippeon.
Mary Esther was born near Mt. Airy, and was the daughter of the late Abram G. and late Annie Main Poole. She grew up near Mt. Airy, and graduated from Frederick High School. During her working career, she worked at Fort Detrick and then the National Institutes of Health. After retiring from NIH, she enjoyed traveling, and visiting with friends.
Throughout her life, Mary Esther was a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, Monrovia, MD; and also attended Calvary Assembly of God, Walkersville, MD.
She and her late husband, Otis, had been married for 45 years. Mary Esther was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband, Mary Esther was preceded in death by four brothers: Preston, Delbert, Alvin and Herman Poole. She is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive family and friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick, Maryland, on Monday, October 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, Monrovia, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, with Pastors Leo and Melissa Barnes officiating. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Rippeon's name to the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, Monrovia, MD, or Calvary Assembly of God, Walkersville, MD.

Mary Esther, Sure will miss your wonderful smile you were just a delight to be around. I know you are rejoicing with Otis at the foot of the Lord. You are a dear saint. So many fond memories you will always be in my thoughts.
No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of our Lord. Our deepest condolences to you and your family.
