To Dorothy's family, May you be sustained by your memories of life with Dorothy. I remember her as always smiling. I had contact with her in the 1970s and 80s through the Michigan affiliate of the American Diabetes Association. Here at the University of Michigan we were writing our first grant for the Michigan Diabetes Research and Training Center. We made visits to Henry Ford Hospital to learn about their diabetes program under Fred and Iris Whitehouse and Dorothy's influence. She was a champion for those with diabetes and had a strong presence in the diabetes world both at the local, state and national level. Her legacy will long be remembered. Blessings upon the family and friends who will miss her.
Linda Strodtman (formerly clinical nurse specialist with the Diabetes Research and Training Center at U of Mich).

I first met Dottie back in 1967 when I first came to Henry Ford Hospital to do a residency in Internal Medicine, She was a year ahead of me in training so she helped show me the ropes and introduced me to other residents, some of whom became lifelong friends like Paul Kvale and Sayed Zafar. But in addition Dottie introduced me to cultural events in the area, especially the Opera and Stratford, Ontario, for which I am eternally grateful. Thanks, Dottie.Above all I want to say that Dottie was one of the best and kindest people I have ever known. Rest in peace, Dorothy.
