Roy Davis, Jr.
- - Roy Davis Jr. born to the late Mildred E. Davis and Roy Davis Sr. departed this life peacefully in his home on Saturday. Roy was a 1963 graduate of Central High School. He retired from the State of Michigan as a Social Worker after 30 years of dedicated service. He spent the majority of those years at the Department of Human Services located on Medbury in the City of Detroit.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Anthony (Tony) and Darryl K. Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife and soulmate of forty-five years, Wilma Davis, Son Darren Davis (Debbie), and Todd Locke who he raised as a son; sisters, E. Raye Townsend and Linda Welsh (Ken); brother Marvin Davis; stepdaughters, Tammy Locke (Michael); Terry Strickland (Tank); Tonya Locke, Billie Locke and Nickie Locke and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Family Hour is scheduled for 11:30am on Friday January 11th at Swanson Funeral Home 14751 W. McNichols Rd Detroit, Ml 48235 followed by a 12 o'clock funeral service. Public viewing January 10th 3pm-8pm.

My prayers are with you in your lost. Mr. Davis was a very man that I had the pleasure of working with at Medbury and Conner Service.
