My condolences to all who love and miss Irene, such a wonderful woman and a great loss. May all the memories you have made help you and your family as you begin to heal, and remember that God is close to the broken-hearted.

Irene and I were locker mates at Lowrey High School. I missed Irene's sweet nature and murmured french language. Shocked by her early passing, I regret that we lost connection. Thank you for the obituary. Claudette may remember me. I am sad, too.
I, too, live in CA, Hermosa Beach.

I am so saddened to learn of Irene's passing. I was her sorority sister in Alpha Mu chapter of Sigma Kappa at the University of Michigan. In fact, she was my Big Sister and roommate at one time. (I still have the pledge paddle she gave me at initiation.) Irene was vivacious and cheerful and a bit of a procrastinator on some of her art projects. I remember helping her finish a hand-hooked rug for one class that she had already pulled two all-nighters on! Another great class assignment was designing a promotional packet for Detroit's bid for the Olympic Games. She was so creative and versatile! Most of all, she was a dear friend and very supportive when I needed a shoulder and an open heart during rough patches.

Once she graduated we lost track of each other. In one of those incredibly "small world" coincidences, I saw her name when I read her husband's obituary in the Detroit papers and later asked my ophthalmologist (Les Siegel) if he knew them. Not only did he know them, but he had been partners with Dr. Myers! I was able to get some contact information for Irene and called her to arrange a get-together, but that turned out to be the day before she was moving to California, so we never did manage a reunion.

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. Irene was loved by everyone in the sorority house and has always held a special memory in my heart. I'm sure your memories of this dear lady will last forever.
