Deacon Jack came into my life at Grace Episcopal Church where he was a lay reader and I, a grade school kid. We knew each other's families. Fast forward 30 years, I moved to GPW and joined the closest Episcopal church. There was Deacon Jack again! He was always upbeat. I became a chalice bearer and we served together. I even had the pleasure of interviewing Jack and Redina for a story in the parish newsletter. He will always be a shining light that exemplified Christ's message to love everyone. As he said to my dying mother when we shared the last sacrament, I say to his memory: Well done.
Now he is smiling in heaven.

Jack always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile that would light
up any room.

He chose not preach his sermons, he simply lived them. He found so many ways to serve and share his gifts!

Children flocked to his office not only to receive his words of wisdom, but also to partake of his endless supply of M&M's!

Jack was a wonderful colleague in ministry and life. We are grateful for our many years of love and friendship,

One of the most wonderful people I have ever met. We will miss him but I am glad he lived a long and blessed life and had such a beautiful family.

An unfailing model of ministry in the Episcopal Church and a long life well lived. May angels greet him with praise. Jasper Green Penningon+ Ypsilanti Michigan
