I remember John fondly from high school. He had a simple, common sense approach to life
while the rest of us were overwhelmed with peer pressures and social standings. He was the one I went to for a reality check. Let your light shine, my friend. You were better than you knew and stronger than most of us.

Me and John done a lot of business through the years with moving inventory, he was a close friend we would talk every week whether it would be about inventory or just to talk about sports , I would always get a Christmas card , and he would always send me steaks on my Birthday. I’m going to miss the talks we have had on my way home sometimes for 45 minutes, you will be missed , I’m sorry for the family loss , He was a person and friend that I will miss talks with

John was more than a brother to me --he was a person I could rely upon for advice and help. He was always uplifting when things seemed down, and always willing to give advice when decisions were being made. He was also a good uncle to my children and a friend to my husband. His good nature and kindness will always be remembered – John, please rest in peace. – Mary, Dan, Brett and Frances.

John, a close friend of mine since Lahser High, was generous to a fault. He was always ready to financially assist friends and relatives in need and insisted on picking up the tab when dining out. Except for the Lions he loved all sports activities especially NASCAR, the Tigers, Spartans and Tour de France. Reading the sports page was the first thing he did every morning. You won’t find anyone that could express a bad word about John, He was a man of high integrity and will missed be all that knew him well.

John "Pangy" was a dear friend and my defense partner on the Lahser High School Hockey team from 71-72. Early morning practices during the week, and John was always ready to go. Same with the games. A big bull of a man with an even bigger heart who always looked out for the other guy. I'll miss John. We all will. Ted Peterson
