Rose Marie Darnell
Livonia - age 91, on January 3, 2018.
Preceded in death by beloved husband of 69 years John Glenn Darnell (2015) and son, "Jackie" (1953). Cherished mother of JoAnne Noel (Frank), Nancy Darnell Helms (Ted) , William "Bill" (Patti) and Matthew ["oops!"] (Sherrie). Proud Nana of Ryan Noel; Kelly, John Robert "Bob" and Karey Helms; Bradley and Brent Darnell; and Jack and Nicholas Darnell and great grandmother to Riddick, Kairo, Deja and Maddox Noel and Dylan Rose Scotti. She was one of four Bartosh siblings predeceased by brothers Joseph and Bob and survived by her older sister Sue Clark (93).
She moved from PA to Detroit for employment during WWII and was truly a "Rosie The Riveter" working on B-24 Liberators at Willow Run. She met John at a dance and they were married in 1946. The rest is history. As John would say, she was "one tough broad" & a "class act." Rose would joke and tell you she was "doing her duty as an American beauty." Rose left an incredible legacy of love, faith, friendship and service. She will be missed beyond words.
The family will receive visitors from 12-4 PM on Saturday, Jan. 13th, at Woodhaven Retirement Community (29711 Wentworth St. Livonia, MI 48154), with a brief Celebration of Life at 3 PM. The family extends love and gratitude to ALL who supported her over the years. Thank you. To share a memory of Rose with her family, please email [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jackie Darnell's name can be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Psalm 23. Amen.

Such great fond memories of my Aunt Rose. She was one special lady for sure. My most cherished ones are the weekends my sister Mary Ann and I would spend at their home because they had a swimming pool. Loved playing Parcheesi with her too. She will me missed but I have no doubt she has been reunited with my dear Uncle Glenn. We'll see you Saturday for sure.

I am so sorry for your loss, Joann, Nancy and Bill. I remember your mom as the class act your dad said.
