Henry Ford McCray, Sr. "Poppa Jack"
Age 88, Trustee of Pleasant Plain United Methodist Church & Retired Maintenance Worker with Alachua County Schools, surrendered to the Will of God on February 25, 2021.
The highlight of Mr. McCray's social life was fishing and proudly coaching The Jonesville Dodgers Baseball Team years ago.
The Homegoing Celebration will be held 12:00PM Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Pleasant Plain Cemetery (Jonesville Community/Newberry, FL) with Elder George Wiley as the Officiant and Rev. Dr. Willie G. Mayberry as the Eulogist. Mr. McCray will be viewed at the Funeral Home on Friday 2:00-7:00PM – And at the Cemetery on Saturday with the Processional. The Procession will form at the residence of his Daughter & Son-In-Law – Linda & William Rush, 17315 NW 32nd Ave, Newberry, FL, at 11:15AM.
Those left to cherish his memory are his Wife – Lois Ross McCray; Daughter – Linda (& William) Rush; Sons – Carlton (& Elaine) McCray, Henry McCray Jr., LaDaniel (& Loretta) McCray Sr., Thaddis (& Joyce) McCray Sr., Gregory McCray, Henry (& Pamela) Jackson, Joseph Ross, and Bishop Willie (& Peg) Ross; 58 Grandchildren; Great Grands; Sisters – Willie Mae (& Wyatt) Dennis, Rutha (& Robert) Wright, Shirley (& Warren) Ford, Christine (& Tony) Ford, Victoria Nelson and Peggy Galloway; In-Laws – Rosa Clements, Jessie (& Emanuel) Baker, Rev. Joseph (& Sarah) Brown Sr., Charlie (& Rebecca) Brown Sr. and Alphonso Brown; Nieces, Nephews, Cousins & Friends.
