Vernon Tyson
Vernon Tyson went home to be with the Lord ,Monday April 5 2021, at E.T. York Care Center, GainesviIle, FL. Vernon was a graduate of RJE High School, Class of 1966. He was a member of Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacons board, president of the Brotherhood, Sunday School Superintendent, and a member of the Male Chorus. Vernon was also a U.S. Army veteran Viet Nam. He was preceded in death by: his parents; Oliver Tyson Sr. & Mable (Kelly) Tyson Siblings; Oliver, Jr., Gad, & Ray Tyson, Gloria Mack, Cynthia Ann Holiday and Shirley Marshall. His memory will live on in the hearts of: a devoted wife Cynthia Tyson, GainesviIIe, FL, Children; Brian Tyson, Sr. (Tiffany) Starke, FI. Dione Tyson-Florian (Daniel) Ruskin, FL, God-daughter Monisha Perkins, OrIando, FL Siblings; Clinton Kelly,(Janice( Cocoa, FL, Hazel Hamilton, Starke, FL, Helen Pitts, Cocoa, FL and five grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Tyson will be held on Saturday, at 3:00 PM at Greater New Hope Missionary Bapt. Church with Rev. Gregory Pelham Officiating Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery Jacksonville, FL. Arrangements are under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home lc. 18 .W.8°h Ave GainesviIIe, FL Visitation for Mr. Tyson, will be on Friday at Greater New Hope Baptist Church from 5:00PM-7:00PM and on Saturday one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers contributions maybe sent to BCF P.0.Box 26Alachua, FL.32616 The cortege will form at the home of Mr.& Mrs. Tyson 2112 S.E.3r^ place Gainesville, FI at 1:45 PM Social Distancing and wearing a facial mask will be enforced regarding the CDC and the Alachua County Emergency Order,2020-05. If you do not have a facial mask, one will be provided for you by a member of the Chestnut Funeral Home staff.
