Emma Hardeman Lee, 88, of Gainesville entered peacefully into her eternal rest on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at her home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Senior Pastor Dr. Thomas R. Smiley, Executive Pastor Don Ormsbee, Minister of Pastoral Care Dr. Jerry Gill and Worship Minister Bill Risinger officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lee was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Mabelton, Ga., to Harry Lee and Mary Smith Dodd, She was retired from Asgrow Seed Company after a 44-year career and was a dedicated member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She was a treasured mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose love of gardening, dancing and the beach will always be remembered. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lee and Mary Smith Dodd; and her siblings, sister, Louise Dodd; and brothers, Raymond, Harry, Charlie, Sam, George and James. Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, James Ashley Lee Jr. of Gainesville; her son, Jimmy Lee and his wife Patsy of Gainesville; her daughter, Susan Moss of Gainesville; her son, David Lee and his wife, Rhonda of Mabelton; along with five grandchildren and their spouses and nine great grandchildren.
