Paul Wiley Currie Jr., age 90, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Clack Stubbs and the Rev. Jeremy Scouggins officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Currie was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Paul Wiley Currie Sr. and the late Sarah Josephine Davis. He was retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Mr. Currie is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen Currie of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Radford and Robert Harrell of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Currie of Fort Valley, Ga.; grandchildren, Jake, Sarah, Ben and Jada Currie; Samantha and Kurt Radford; brother, Bill Currie of California.
