Harry was my "Uncle Harry" from the time I was about five years old. He was a lot of fun then as he was about 14 and lived in NYC. He took an interest in Dick, two, and me as he had no younger siblings. We had many trips to the Bronx Zoo, the Fordham University Botanical Gardens and the hothouses there. Trips to Radio City for movies and shows and of course, a whole lot of good food. That man loved to eat!
I loved listening to him playing the piano and he even wrote some songs and used to sing along. His mom and dad had the first TV in the family
and Dick and I were fascinated by it and watched the NY Yankees games so learned about baseball from Uncle Harry. He played practical jokes on all of us and had a great sense of humor. Fun days, long ago.
We kept in touch all throughout our lives and it was always a pleasure to see him and some of his family whenever we could get together. So many fond memories of years of growing up, working, retiring, and caring for each other. It's hard to accept that he is gone so suddenly as we expected him to outlive us all. Eventually we will meet again and have some comfort that we are all together again.
