Fernie Kay and Margaret were some of my parents-Charles and Ladell Amos- oldest friends. Very fond memories of being with Kay and Aunt Margaret. After my father passed away, Kay always made an effort to call my mom and to visit when he was in Florida. It was a special time and we all loved to see him. What great stories they had about being in PC and Colorado Springs. He will be missed.

I played bridge with Fernie when his regular partner was down south a couple of times. He was a kind and gentle man, and a good bridge player.

Fernie and Margaret were like second parents while I was growing up. What a blessing it was to have them in my life, I will miss the fun times we used to share. The overwhelming presence they brought to all of us at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church!

Today we remember Fernie died but FOREVER we'll remember he LIVED!!

Playing Bridge as Fernie`s partner was the highlight of many weeks. He was a gentle and considerate guy, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

We will miss you Fernie, especially your Florida drawl, your pecan pie, and your love for our mother, Eileen. Thanks for being a great companion for her the last ten years. With love and respect, Kyle and Gabriele Hunke

I remember Fernie knowing his way around the kitchen at a family reunion at his home with Eileen. A fun time was had by all.
