Jim was such a joy to visit with. Always happy to converse with those of us, that exercised together. May seem like a small thing, but I really miss his smiling face.
My sincere sympathy to his wife, and all of his family!

To the Rooney family,

I read the attached obituary with genuine sadness and offer most sincere condolences. I knew Jim only as an acquaintance mostly through a warm handshake and pleasant hello at church on Sunday's, when the spirit might move me to attend. My sense is that we have lost a good, caring man. To Lynn: with sadness, no one will know this better. To Casey: special sympathies on this sad occasion.

Jim was a few years ahead of me and I didn't have much personal history with him, that I was a soccer player didn't help. The Rooney family name does give my spine a tingle. Only fond memories come to mind. I, too, ended up out here in Colorado after a lifetime teaching music in Vermont. I would have loved to have met up with Jim and talked common Ludlow stories. I sure he had some great stories about my uncle, John Kurty. Jim and his fellow athletes were a big part of the Ludlow HS scene. Even though, I wasn't a part of Jimmy's Life, the Rooney Family and the athletes of his class were an inspiration to younger classmates. My condolences to ALL.
