I was fortunate enough to know the Swanson family through their son Erik. We went to college together, became best friends and band mates, and have many adventures since. My fondest memory of Larry and his family was when we all had Thanksgiving dinner together in Tucson, Arizona in 2004 - we had a special night. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Swanson family during this time, and the time to come. With Love, Your friend, Paul Leetmae. Silver City, NM.

When I first moved to Colorado Springs and began attending the life drawing group sessions at Cottonwood Center for the Arts, Larry was one of the first artists I met. He made me feel welcomed in this group. I will always remember his kindness and support as well as his wonderful drawings. He will be truly missed.

I was so fortunate to have worked with "Dr. Larry" at Textron and Autometric. I was always in awe of his intelligence, humor, and incredible artistic talent. He helped me so many times on physics homework problems, and I thoroughly enjoyed our office conversations. It always amazed me how someone with his impressive background, knowledge, and intelligence could be so down-to-earth and humble. Dr. Larry drew a great caricature of me when we were at Textron, and it will always be one of my prized treasures. Thank you for every cherished memory, Dr. Larry! The world has lost a true gentleman!

So Sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I knew him through the portrait group at the Senior Center, I loved his humor and art. A thoroughly delightful person that I was privileged to have known.
