Marj Horn passed away Sunday, August 2nd at St. Francis Hospital due to complications from a recent stroke. Born in Wichita, KS on April 24th, 1945, Marj was the youngest of three daughters born to Heber and Eloine (McEwen) Beardmore. A fine student with a life-long love for reading, Marj graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1963. After high school, Marj attended Wichita State University, earning a degree in Education in 1968.
Marj married H. Wallace Horn August 12, 1967 in Wichita, KS. "Wally" preceded Marj in death in 2014. After marriage Marj & Wally moved to Kansas City, New York City, Tulsa, Dallas and finally staying in Tulsa. Marj & Wally enjoyed the Rocky Mountains and spent much time along with their beloved Labrador Retrievers over the years in their vacation homes in Green Mountain Falls, CO outside of Colorado Springs. Marj & Wally were both very passionate about their "furry children" throughout their marriage, sharing their lives with many Labradors over the years.
A life-long believer in giving back to the community and the less-fortunate, Marj spent many years volunteering countless hours to charitable causes. Some of the most important causes to Marj included Dallas Children's Hospital while living in Dallas and Habitat for Humanity for many of her years in Tulsa and, upon her death, Marj established a foundation for the benefit of dogs.
Marj is survived by her sisters, Carolyn (Terry) Silvius of Wellsville, KS and Marilyn Hull of Long Beach California, her nieces, Sharon (Kenton) Thompson of Olathe, KS, Cynthia (Steve) Deters of Abilene, KS, nephew Dale (Christina) Silvius of Leawood, KS and several great nieces and nephews, many cherished friends, and her much-loved dog, Kailyn.

I have known Marj all my life. We lost touch through the years, but over the years we met again and again at school reunions or bumping in to each other on common meetings when both landed in Wichita, always coming back to the center, Ruth and Wes; Eloine and Heber. I do remember time at the Beardmores watching Backgammon or penny card games, a birthday Party or something ... happy memories. May they all meet, including Wally, in Heaven and have a joyous reunion. Rest In Peace,
It is always hard to lose a sister. Carolyn and Marilyn, I am sorry for your loss. Siblings never leave us. I know...having lost my brothers Bill and David, I have never stopped thinking of them and smiled. Life continues but there were and are so many happy memories. The Beardmores were like family to the Parks

I have known Marj truly “all my life”. And most of hers. We were a month apart.we lost touch from time to time but always came back to the center, our parents, Ruth and Wes and Heber and Eloine! What a group of common friends and celebrations over those years. I often ran in to Marj in Wichita when both of us wer back in Wichita for school reunions or just bumped in to each other. So full of energy! And her wide smile...!....
As time has gone on those “old days” have ebbed but the memories continue and will be with me the rest of my life. Going with daddy and mother to watch Backgammon or penny card games...with Marj and birthday parties. Wishing I had “big sisters” (I had brothers only) made me her “big sisters” Carolyn and Marilyn, I am sorry for your loss and for all the family I am sad. Having lost two of my 3 brothers, Bill and David, I know the loss never leaves. Know there are few Parks left, but for the Park family I say I hope they all meet again somewhere and celebrate Marj’s return and May they all continue to Rest In Peace.
