How strange: we used to play for hours and hours in the Christ Church back yard. So much time spent there, organising music, competing in everyway possible, laughing, singing and churching. I'd forgotten so much of it, and just hearing the name James Hockley brings my childhood flooding back.

No news for years, and then the worst possible news. I can't believe it. I can only send my love to your family and friends James, and continue to think of you and talk about you.

Your childhood friend,
Sarah Giblin

Time passes quickly but for you no seconds wasted,
The joy, the happiness, the life from you I tasted,
So I can't say I new you well, But I have some thing to tell,
It only takes one person to make a difference in this world,
You were like a candle in the dark, so amazingly unique,
Good night, sweet dreams, may you rest in peace.

My thoughts are with Sue, Mia, Clare, and Bob... xxx RIP

James

It is the first day back to work for me since the day you passed away. To say the place has a different feel about it is an understatement! Am still waiting for you to arrive in your usual happy chirpy manner, wanting to discuss the latest footy banter and generally brightening the day with your happy go lucky view on life. You will be sorely missed by one and all here! My thoughts are with your family and all others that were close to you. Will miss you mate!

You were the centre of party, the key to the glorious success of the MP Aunty Sally team, a great bowler (even as a rival captain), a great friend and a funny guy.

Thank you for the laughs. You will be sorely missed.

My thoughts are with your family.

Take care fella.

Jimmy, I feel privileged to have met you and, albeit briefly, to have been able to have shared time with you. So thoughtful, so funny, so positive and easy going - couldn't help but want to be around you, it was a joy to be in your company. It was so clear to see how much your family meant to you - my thoughts go out to them.
Lots of great memories of you Jimmy, miss you and will never forget you x

James, I loved watching you play with your Godchildren. You filled their lives with such deep love and they loved you deeply too.
The choir will have such a big hole to fill now you have gone. But I am sure you will be watching over them with a big smile.
It was a pleasure knowing you.
God Bless you, your family and friends.

We are missing the laughter in the mornings - the kids inevitably tried to mow him over running past almost daily as he headed off for work.
Nothing can make this right, and our love goes to Sue and the family.

James, we worked in far distant corners of the office, and only for a few weeks, but were there for the same reason. On a bright spring morning, your young life was suddenly taken from you in a split second of tragic misfortune. I'm so sad.

He kept at true good humour's mark
The social flow of pleasure's tide:
He never made a brow look dark,
Nor caused a tear, but when he died

Always a smile never a frown. Always had time for a chat and a laugh. Nothing was ever a problem

A genuinely nice person, the world is a lesser place without you James and it was an honour to have known you for the short time I did. A true gentleman and a friend you will be missed. May you rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of one of the nicest people I ever known

It's hard to know where to start...
We meet millions of people throughout our lifetime but only a handful really touch our hearts, needless to say you touched mine.
Know one knows why these tragic events happen it's so easy to dwell on what ifs.
You bought us all so many fond memories and were a true inspiration as a human being.
From now on I'm going to try and take a leaf out of your book.
You were a positive, friendly, loving person a real credit to your family.
Thank you for being my friend James.
Love you (Kiss from Dale, Me and both the boys x x x x)

Just such an absolute gem of a bloke. He was a reason to look forward to going to work, a lynchpin in an evening out, and a friend I feel lucky to have made.

I will miss him dearly, as will anyone who ever met such a friendly, thoughtful, kind and funny chap. So many good memories to keep will one day make this a lot easier to deal with, and I owe him for a part of myself. Cheers buddy.
