How strange: we used to play for hours and hours in the Christ Church back yard. So much time spent there, organising music, competing in everyway possible, laughing, singing and churching. I'd forgotten so much of it, and just hearing the name James Hockley brings my childhood flooding back.

No news for years, and then the worst possible news. I can't believe it. I can only send my love to your family and friends James, and continue to think of you and talk about you.

I feel privileged to have known James, and to have so many happy memories of singing and socialising with him. He was one of the most genuine people I have ever met.

It is the first day back to work for me since the day you passed away. To say the place has a different feel about it is an understatement! Am still waiting for you to arrive in your usual happy chirpy manner, wanting to discuss the latest footy banter and generally brightening the day with your happy go lucky view on life. Although we cannot be with you on Thursday to celebrate dearest James life and lay him to rest, our thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially Sue.

James, we worked in far distant corners of the office, and only for a few weeks, but were there for the same reason. On a bright spring morning, your young life was suddenly taken from you in a split second of tragic misfortune. I'm so sad.

For the short time that I knew James, he was a delight to work with. A nice guy and thoroughly professional. He will be greatly missed by all who closely worked with him in the past six months.

I was devastated to hear about what had happened, and even now I can't quite believe it. I hadn't seen James for a while, but I'm very proud to be able to have called him my friend. He will be very much missed by everyone who knew him.

We meet millions of people throughout our lifetime but only a handful really touch our hearts, needless to say you touched mine.
Know one knows why these tragic events happen it's so easy to dwell on what ifs.
