"Butch" and I became friends many years ago when he visited his grandparents George and Eleanor Thompson and his Uncle Leroy who lived across the street from my childhood home. I am so happy that we were able to reconnect at our recent high school reunions. I'll miss him and his great sense of humor.

So sorry for your loss. Hal was always a happy person and had a smile on his face everytime we saw him. May he rest in peace and the the Good Lord bless and comfort all those left behind. Our
thoughts and prayers are with you.

I've been a member of the Elks Lodge for a few years now. When I first joined, Hal and Norm were the faces of the lodge helping out wherever they could with a few select others. It takes a great man to sacrifice his time to benefit those who need a helping hand, smiling face, and a caring demeanor; Hal volunteered that service without question. It's guys like Hal who make this world a better place, and we can only hope that there's more people like him. The picture on this obituary displays exactly what Hal was like 24/7/365 - happy, jovial, and just a pure joy to be around. I'll miss his "Hello Liver Lips" greeting and his company on the trips to Big Spring VA Hospital. We'll miss our absent brother and member.

although we did not live near each other you were and always will be in my heart. You big brother taught me many things through out my life, like getting us out of bed because at 1 in the morning because the dishes were not clean properly and teaching me how to ride a big bike. I loved the conversations we had in the past. i love you so much will miss your visits here and with dad you helped raise us 3 the best you could until you left home to become a man and a wonderful husband and father of 3 and a grand father wow you did it all bro. Give mom a hug and kiss from me, until we are all reunited once again I love you....
