He was one of the first people I met when I moved to Salado. I sat next to him at the Chamber Banquet and he and Barbara were so funny and welcoming, I knew he was going to be one of the people in town who worked hard for the arts. He immediately asked me for a donation to raise money for the Public Arts League of Salado, and he began a 12 year habit of stopping by my shop to see what we were doing. He took time to visit and talk to all of us here. He really cared about us and about the challenges we face as artists. He was a mentor to so many, I will miss him so damn much!

He was a wonderful character, and provided me with rich memories. He will be missed by throngs.

My heart was broken over the news that my mentor and friend had passed. But so very grateful to have spent as much time with him as I did at the end. It was only one year ago he was directing me in a scene he wrote for Frontera Fest. His energy and optimism was always contagious. Glad I got to tell him I love him and to get his permission to pray for him. RIP, Amen.

I was so fortunate to study under Dr. Carver at ASU and minor in theater! I will never forget him telling me once to go out and live a little before deciding to be an actress! Forever thankful for his wisdom and his patience with this kid from the ranch! ❤ Nicole Davenort
