Kommer, Adriana N. Grand Rapids, MI Adriana Kommer, age 93, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Adriana was born January 12, 1926 in Den Helder, Netherlands to Ann and Arien Hoogerwerf. She grew up in Grand Rapids where she met and married her husband, Andrew, in 1947. Adriana was a caring and loving mother, wife and grandmother, She was a good-hearted person and enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading and attending water aerobics with her special friend, Ruth. She was an avid gardener in her younger years. She loved animals and taking care of her special kitties. Adriana always said the best years of her life were the days she spent camping with her family and friends. She was an active member of South Congregational Church and later Plymouth United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew, and son, Randy. Adriana will be remembered by her children, Chris Obermyer (Neal); grandsons, James and Kurtis; son, David Kommer; granddaughters, Lorinda Lehner (Dave), Heidi Marlette (Kenny); her sister, Joann Fritz; and brothers, Joe (Judy) Hoogerwerf, Ron (Marlena) Hoogerwerf; several nephews and nieces, along with special friends and neighbors. Many special "thank yous" to Spectrum Health Hospice for their loving help and care. Memorial contributions in Adriana's name may be sent to Spectrum Health Hospice or Plymouth United Church of Christ. According to Adriana's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for the immediate family and close friends.

I WILL MISS BEING WITH HER EVERY WEEK HAVING LUNCH AND GOING TO THE KENTWOOD POOL FOR WATER AROBICS AND JUST TALKING WITH HER. BEEN FRIENDS FOR A LONG TIME,AND WENT TO SAME CHURCH A LONG TIME.
