Taylor Sr., David John age 82, was welcomed home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Wm. Glen and Esther Taylor and parents-in-law V. Lee and Georgetta Wilson; brothers Bill, Hearald, and Don Taylor; sisters Dorothy Kipp and Ruth Stiles; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Doris and Larry Rice. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sheila Ann Taylor; children David (Monica) Taylor, Miriam Taylor Crawford, Deborah Taylor, Naomi (Daniel) Hayes, Ruth Taylor, and Rebekah (Brian) Croel; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Alice) Taylor; sisters and brothers-in-law Kay Taylor, Geraldine Taylor, Glenda and John Wallis, Linda and Tom Randall, Don and Jerri Wilson, Ron and Margie Wilson, Karen and Gene Cline; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Dave was a passionate educator and taught for 30 years in Wyoming Public Schools at Pinery Park and West Elementary Schools. In his retirement, he spent time gardening, reading and writing about Amish education, the Civil War, history, poetry, and religion. He amassed a collection of books numbering in the thousands and had read them all. His Aunt Edna said David lived the William Butler Yeats quote, "There are no strangers, only friends you have not met yet." His greatest passion in life was his faith in Jesus Christ and his greatest joy in life was his family. A family committal ceremony and interment will be held at Georgetown Cemetery. In honor of Dave and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Forest Hills Bible Chapel or Brookcrest Rehab and Life Center. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.
