Kowalczyk, Doris E. of Conklin, MI Doris Elisabeth Kowalczyk, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday evening, November 26, 2019, with family at her side. Doris was born in Wiesbaden, Germany to the late Heinrich and Elisabeth (Gross) Wiederhold. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, knitting, crocheting, drawing, reading and had a broad range of knowledge on many subjects "Doris was the family's google before google." In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by her husband Richard Kowalczyk in 2005 and her brother Gunter Wiederhold. She is survived by her children, Elaine (Dave) Begin, Marian (Jim) Looks, Richard Kowalczyk Jr. and Julie (Joe) Knauf; 13 grandchildren, Nick (Carissa) DeKraker, Hannah DeKraker and Matt Reens, Rachael (Zach) TeBos, Tom (Stiphannie) Looks, Mike (Patricia) Looks, Phillip (Kala) Looks, Andrew Looks, Patrick (Megan) Looks, Claudia Kowalczyk, Katherine Kowalczyk, Margaret Kowalczyk, Garrett Knauf and Leah Knauf; 15 great grandchildren, Dominick and Annalina DeKraker, Avery, Mavis, Matthew Jr. Reens, Zara TeBos, Judah, Lydia and Micah Looks, Ryleigh, Eli and Lincoln Looks, Colton, Levi and Oliver Looks; sisters-in-law, Ute Wiederhold, Mary Staskiewicz, Joan Lundburg; brothers-in-law, Aloysuis (Joni) Kowalczyk, Paul (Mary Alice) Kowalczyk, Greg (Joanne) Kowalczyk; many nieces and nephews; special cousins, Walli (David) Pomeroy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, Dec 3, 2019 at St Mary's Catholic Church, 15164 Juniper St, Marne, MI with Fr. Ayub Nasar Celebrant. Interment will be in the McNitt Cemetery, Conklin. The Family will greet relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday Dec 2, 2019 at St Mary's Catholic Church in the Community Room and Tuesday 10 – 11 AM one hour prior to the service at Church. Love, prayers and deepest condolences from the Phillips family. We have such fond memories of Aunt Doris and Uncle Dick, and time spent with our cousins. Love binds the Kowalczyk clan and we are so blessed to be part of it. Aunt Doris will live in our hearts forever.
