Edna was my dear cousin whom I respected and enjoyed spending time with. One of my favorite memories was when we both packed up all our kids and headed to Honderds pool for the day. We has such fun! Now she has reunited with her dear husband Peter and together they are enjoying the presence of their Lord and Savior. My deepest sympathy to you all in the loss of your precious Mother.

Dear Family, It was a privilege to know you so well. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you. A "special" lady your mom truly was. Enjoyed many visits with her these last years at American House. She always remained interested in OTHERS. Such a neat gathering for her 90th birthday open house too. Glad I talked to many of you at that time. May the Lord bless and keep all of you. Whenever I would see Edna, with a twinkle in her eye and a big smile, we would reminisce about grocery shopping at my Dads store, Nyeholts, and how she would fill up her cart for their growing family. She was a very gracious lady and will be missed. Our deepest sympathy. Jeanne Nyeholt Rotman

To Ednas Family my deepest sympathy in the passing of your dear sweet Mon and Grandma. My husband Pres and Edna shared a wonderful caring friendship in Sandalwood until his passing to glory in April. Now they can share endless meals together in their heavenly home. Imagine feasting at the table of their Lord

Our deepest sympathy for the family. So many of my childhood memories involve the Verkaiks. I was about 10 before I realized we weren't actually related. It was always Dr. Pete and Aunt Edna.
They will always be fondly remembered.

Mrs Verkaik was one of the 9 matriarchs in a neighbor of 9 homes. I was blessed to grow up in this neighborhood. Memories of Mrs Verkaik and her kids that I hung around with are the most precious of my childhood. Dr Verkaik was my personal physician during those years. My clearest memory of Mrs Verkaik was her kindness she showed me and her laugh! Never seemed angry. Always smiling. I cherish that neighborhood and Mrs Verkaik was an integral part of that. She is in a better place now and for that I'm thankful!
