Our hearts go out to the family of John Degroot and to the ones he leaves behind my mother and I loved him dearly he was not only a great friend but a mentor and a teacher. Not only that he was the best man at my mom's wedding. He was always there to lend a hand, lend advice, and above all he would always set you straight when you were in the wrong. He loved everyone and everything. A lot of us were saddened when we found out the John Degroot and passed. However we all know now that he is in a better place. I spoke at his funeral and I said on opening day November 15th I'm going to get that deer. Well I didn't get one opening day, however I did get a doe the very next day and I feel that I owe that shot and that deer to John Degroot. John always told me that if you shoot a deer to shoot it in the neck well I tried to aim at the neck however I ended up and hit her in the heart. I had to track it good 40 ft but I did end up with a good good harvest that day. Above all my mom was proud of me I know very well that so was John. Again he will be missed. And for whoever is reading this we all love him and we miss him with all of our hearts. May God watch over all of you out there, and most importantly the ones with the covid-19 virus. Please stay safe and above all God bless. Love always Tammy and James cross from Irons Michigan

Frank and I have never forgotten John. He introduced us and as of Oct. 3, we celebrated our 39th anniversary. How ironic is that? We had the opportunity to visit after his accident and had a great afternoon. Our hearts go out to all who had the chance to love him.
