Brockway, Lyle G. "I will sing unto the Lord because he has dealt bountifully with me" Psalm 13:6. Born on April 15th 1924, Lyle passed away peacefully in his sleep at 7:40AM just as the sun was rising, turning the sky into a golden hue on Jan 1, 2020, at the age of 95 years 8 months. He was preceded in death by his parents Omar and Inez Brockway and four of his siblings. Also preceding him, was his first wife Maria and a son Michael, a minister in the United Methodist Church. He is survived by his second wife Roberta and a large combined family of; three children and spouses; four step children and spouse; one step daughter preceded him; twenty four grandchildren and spouses; thirty two great grandchildren. Lyle experienced the Great Depression and the Second World War. As a pilot, he flew thirty five bombing runs over Germany. His home air field was in Kimbolten, England. His life long career was with Consumers Energy, retiring in 1954. The last 24 years of his life he has lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He loved to travel and play bridge. As the years advanced and he had many health issues and challenges he could often be heard saying "It is well with my soul". A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2020 at Clark Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 10-11AM with Service at 11AM Luncheon following in BK room at noon. Pastor Tim Tuthill presiding. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to the Clark Benevolent Fund

Lyle was a good neighbor and I always looked forward to engaging him in conversation. Rest in Peace my friend; your tour of duty here on God's Earth is complete.

Nothing at the bridge table ever upset him, which is a great virtue in that rough-and-tumble game! Lyle was a GOOD MAN!
