Lovett, Michael E. Michael E. Lovett, of Trufant, MI, was born on March 11, 1945 in Lebanon, IN. On January 4, 2021, he went to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sandra Lovett, on December 20, 2019. Also preceding him were his sister, Gail Lovett; brother, Dale Lovett; parents, Robert and Margaret Lovett; and brother-in-law, Jim Reno. His is survived by his sister, Ann (Philip) Gano; and sisters-in-law, Vera Lovett, Kay (Mike) Ireland, Rita Reno, Robin Reno, and Patti (Barry) Wheeler; and also many nieces and nephews. Mike taught at Union High School in Grand Rapids and Sandee taught for the East Grand Rapids School District. Mike and Sandee spent their summers camping and traveling throughout the United States in their motor home or navigating the waters of the Mississippi River or the Great Lakes in their boat. Newfoundland dogs became a passion in their lives; they raised and loved many "Newfs". Utilitzing their teaching skills, they taught water rescue, draft work, and obedience to hundreds of owners and dogs. They were very active in numerous Newfoundland organizations, the American Kennel Club, and other organizations promoting dogs at both the local and national levels. Mike and Sandee supported and were actively involved with Camp Concordia in Gowen, MI for many years. St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Trufant was their church home. Their smiles and friendships will be remembered and cherished by many. A celebration of their lives will be observed at a future time.
