Grandpa was always up for a game, the only thing better than the family dinners was the competitive game of pass the ace afterwards.

It's not quite done yet but I really really hope you enjoy the picture. I have poured by blood sweat and tears into this project for at least the past week

It’s hard to describe grandpa Tanis in a way that truly gives him justice. Everyone who knew him knew that he lightened any situation, made anyone feel welcome and comfortable, and had a smile for strangers and family alike. Grandpa was always such a special person who was so easy to feel connected to and talk to, everyone who met him was left with an imprint of him. Thucydides said, “what you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.”
Grandpa is woven into all of our lives and his example will always lead us to do better and to try and live with as much love and meaning as he always lived.
I just wish I had one last chance to thank him for how he has, and still does, change my life for the better.

Grandpa was such a kind, joyful, and thoughtful person. I remember how he laid his cards down after winning a game at family gatherings. So nonchalant but also pretty proud of winning. I remember him showing off his fancy wallet all the time. I remember him showing me his camera and he continued to update our photos on the wall and family events. I remember him laughing, his tight hugs, and his engaging spirit. I remember getting excited when I got to ride with Grandma and Grandpa somewhere rather than with my parents. The theme here is that I remember. He left such good memories and I appreciate that. He gave me those and I will never forget. Rest In Peace, Grandpa.

Grandpa always had a smile on his face, a laugh in his eyes, and a joke on his mind . I always remember him as being kind-hearted and positive no matter what he was going through, that was just the way he was. If he could slip a joke into a conversation to make you laugh, he always did! Always giving, never taking, grateful and not complaining. It’s hard to be left here without him but it’s comforting to know that he had a beautiful, and I mean BEAUTIFUL, life with everyone you could have asked for. Requiescat in pace Grandpa

I never met the man but I have met the son and if the man is anything like his son he is a wonderful person. I'm so sorry for the family's loss. I can now say for sure that I know how you feel since my daddy passed just a couple weeks ago
