Elmer Renier

Luxemburg - Elmer J. Renier, 91, Dyckesville, died Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018, surrounded by his family at home. He was born in Champion on September 06, 1926 to the late John J. and Minnie (Delvaux) Renier. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. On August 06, 1949 he married Marie F. Vandervest at St. Joseph Church in Champion. She preceded him in death July 26, 2005. Elmer loved the water, fishing, being outdoors, gardening and cutting the lawn. He was a wonderful man, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9677, Bellevue and St. Louis Church in Dyckesville.

Survivors include six children, Julie Deprey; Cathy (Larry) Dart; Patti (Robert) Jacques, all of Dyckesville; John (Julie) Renier, New Franken; Bill (Becky) Renier, Dyckesville; Dan Renier, Green Bay; 20 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; his special friend, Mary Dupont, New Franken; one brother in law and one sister in law, Jim Vandervest, Champion; Jenny Vandervest, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

Elmer was preceded in death by, one daughter in law, Christine Renier; one son in law, David Deprey; one brother, Richard (Mayme) Renier; two sisters, Florence (Elmer) Vandervest; Verna (Russell) Vincent; two brothers in law and two sisters in law, Irwin Vandervest; Merle (Evelyn) Vandervest; Arlene Vandervest.

Friends may call at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 15, 2018. American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 memorial service 6:00 pm. Closing parish prayer service 7:00 pm on Friday with Pat Ratajczak, Pastor Leader. Visitation will continue 9:00 to 10:30 am on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville. Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Dean Dombroski officiating. Full military rites following the funeral Mass. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay. www.mcmahonfh.com

So sorry for your loss, Julie and the whole Renier family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Your dad was such a kind and loving person. He always stopped by the campground at Bay Shore to check on the campers and sometimes share a drink or two.
