As a 1955 Classmate at Freedom High School, I would like to extend my condolences to Bev and Family at the loss of Jerry.
December 25, 2017
It is with profound sadness to hear of the passing of Jerry. Bev we pray for your full and speedy recovery. We pray for your entire family during this Christmas season as there will be an empty chair at the dinner table and many fond memories to share. There will be great sadness, but also great joy in the life of Jerry to be celebrated because of the impact he has had on all of you.

We have known Jerry fo over 30 years. I first met him when I moved to Freedom to start my teaching career in the metals department at Freedom High School. I heard he fixed TV's and being a young teacher with a new family everything I owned was second hand. Remember when TV's had fuses and capacitors? At that time he became my TV repair man. A few years later he became my neighbor, and then he became my friend. He was such a help to me in my career because of his expertise in the area of welding. He taught me a great deal and provided equipment for the school at great discounted prices.

Jerry and Bev were like adoptive grandparents to my two kids. You guys attended their weddings. I will miss the many times we would see each other in our yards working on something and take a break to have a chat and enjoy a cold beverage on a warm sunny day while sitting on the grass. Often times I would have to repeat myself because he didn't like to wear his hearing aids, but I didn't mind. There are many more stories but I will save those for myself. It saddens us that we cannot be there during this difficult time but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family even these many miles apart. May our great God comfort all of you and may his blessed son Jesus the reason we celebrate today be in your hearts and minds.

Our Love to all
Mark and Chris Starke
