Sarah E. Lotto

Lakewood, CO - Sarah Elizabeth Lotto, 43, Lakewood, Colorado, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, died Saturday, September 5, 2020, as a result of a bicycling accident in Lakewood. She was born November 14, 1976, in Green Bay to Bernard "Bernie" and Janet (Steeno) Lotto. Sarah attended Denmark Elementary School and graduated from Denmark High School in 1995, as a co-valedictorian. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, graduating in 1999, with an Electrical Engineering degree.

Her career began right out of college with employment for General Electric in Waukesha. Shortly after accepting that position she continued her career with a move to Colorado which is where she made her home. Sarah was highly regarded in her field and in 2006 took a position with Avnet. In 2011 she began employment at Symantec until 2019, when she moved her career to Broadcom where she was currently employed.

Sarah was a dedicated and caring mother and always an upbeat, positive friend to many. She was known as a bright, kind, beautiful soul. She "lived" Colorado, taking in all it had to offer and then some. She enjoyed the cities, seasons and the adventure of the mountains and forests while always sharing love and appreciation for her Wisconsin roots, including catching chickens on the family farm and her love for the Packers. Sarah was a member of Ethos Gym excelling in Cross-Training where she achieved and surpassed many of her personal fitness goals. It is hard to imagine someone so full of life, could have hers taken away too soon. Sarah's legacy will be her impact on the many people she touched throughout her life.

Sarah is survived by her two sons, Evan and Braden Walls, Lakewood, CO; her parents, Bernie and Janet Lotto, Ledgeview; three brothers and their families: Kevin (Marie) Lotto, Beaver Dam and their children, Reid and Drew; Geoffrey (Amanda) Lotto , Denmark and their daughter, Aubrey; Phillip (Laura) Lotto, Algoma and their children, Elliott, Gertrude and Gwenivere. She is further survived by her maternal grandfather, Milton Steeno, Howard and a dear beloved friend, Lucio Santucci, Montreal, Canada; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and the children's father, Richard "Tony" Walls.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Myron and Margaret (Hutjens) Lotto and her maternal grandmother, Doris (Geyer) Steeno.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, with a parish wake service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Thursday at the church with Rev. Ron Belitz and Rev. Dennis Ryan concelebrating. Burial in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, New Denmark. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund has been established in her name. Online condolences may be sent to the Lotto family at www.prokowall.com. Sarah's family is asking that masks be worn as you enter the chapel for the visitation. The funeral Mass will be available on the parish Facebook site at: popgb54311 beginning at 11:00 am.

The Lotto family would like to thank her numerous Colorado "family" and friends for their overwhelming support and prayers and especially to Becky S. and the first responders at the scene of the accident. Your care and concern will never be forgotten.

Good morning Sarah’s family..early this morning as I saw the beautiful sunrise and felt the crisp feel of fall, I imagined it would have been a day that Sarah would have loved. I never met her, however based on what I heard of her at the service last night, I pictured her smiling and on her way to meeting our Lord.

My deepest condolences to Sarah's family.

I worked with Sarah when she first started at Avnet. She lit up a room with her beautiful smile and energy. She was incredibly smart, a hard worker but humble. Her love for her sons, nature, adventure, and life will never be forgotten.

She is now one of the brightest stars in the sky shining on all of us.

Evan and Braden, may the love of family and friends carry you through your grief.

I wanted to pass on my condolences to Sarah's family and friends. I knew her from work. You know this, anybody that met her did, but Sarah had a way about her that was so genuine, caring, and kind. I've never met anybody that has the ability to make you feel so comfortable and close, with such ease, and I can't imagine anyone that ever met her not feeling the same way. My last conversation with her was about her maybe planning a trip to Mexico and her wanting to "tighten up my tummy". She was considering doing a half marathon that I was trying to talk her into and I was teasing her about not even breaking in her new running shoes yet.

I've missed her at work this week. Sarah was the living persona of everything that is right in the world. The world can't afford to lose people like her and doing so is an absolute tragedy. She was a blessing to the world, and to me personally she was also a friend.

I'm sorry I can't make it but I know you all will shine a bright beacon of love in her direction.

Our family would like to thank Sarah's family and friends for creating and shaping a very special person that we were able to enjoy and be positively influenced by over the past twelve years. We first met Sarah at Kindercare when Braden & our boys were 2 years old. Since then we have had many fun get-togethers with her and the boys. Listening at her Memorial yesterday, I'm delighted to know she had such a wonderful influence on so many others too. Peace and strength to you all as we learn to live without her

It's hard to sum up the impact a person like Sarah can have. She was a wonderful leader and friend. She was a grounded farm-girl that just so happened to work in cyber-security. She was weird and funny. She was smart and savvy. She was compassionate. She is what the world needed more of and yet she departed way too soon.
I want her family to know that whatever they called her, be it mom, daughter, aunt....the impact she had on others may be hard for you to understand. Maybe you always just saw the small town girl but you should know that what she was is a giant. She became a leader in a mostly male industry and she did it with heart and caring. She did it by being the kind of person most will never be no matter how much they want to be. Know that this small town farm-girl was one of the best I've had the pleasure to work with.
I smile knowing what she accomplished and cry knowing what more she could have.
R.I.P. Sarah...your work on Earth is done...now go make the angels laugh with your color-of-the month hair!
