Kenneth Loftis Obituary

Kenneth Loftis

Kenneth Loftis, age 90, of Baileyton, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025. He was born on October 24, 1934, and lived a full and meaningful life, grounded in faith, family, and a deep love of the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lougene Loftis, with whom he shared many years of marriage and three children.

Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, shooting, and spending time in nature. He had a lifelong passion for Ford vehicles and was always happiest with a good story, a steady hand, and being outdoors.

He was a proud father to his children: Melissa Grissinger and her husband Matthew, Grant Loftis and his wife Terria, and Arnold Loftis and his wife Lori. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Lindsay Franklin and her husband Josh, Matt Loftis and his wife Lindsey, Sara Loftis, Alexis Strickland and her husband Toney, Kendal Loftis, and John Neal Grissinger; and his great-grandchildren: Morgan, Madison, Mathes, Brett, Maci, and Waylon.

Kenneth was blessed with many special friendships over the years, including Raymond Manis, Kent Jones and family, Vickie Dougherty, and Gaynelle Ball, whose companionship brought him much joy and comfort.

He will be remembered for his strength, his love for his family, and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. His presence, wisdom, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-7 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service downtown. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Nathan Reynolds officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to Zion Cemetery for the 11 am graveside service. Pallbearers will be Matt Loftis, Kendal Loftis, John Neal Grissinger, Josh Franklin, Kent Jones, Brian Farris, David Stanifer, and Jimmy Fincher.

The funeral will be live streamed at www.jeffersmortuary.com
