When I heard the terrible events that day I felt a strange connection to it all, although i was in a town in Hampshire,UK. It was many years later that I found out that I shared the name of someone on the flight. I was to lose my sister only 18 days later. I often think about Dianne although I did not know her. I know only too well that you do not ever recover from your loss you just somehow carry on best you can.

My family visited the 9/11 memorial on 12.22.12 and were drawn to a name on that flight crew. My Daughter brought a flower and placed it on Dianne's name.
The wind swept through and the flower took flight for a moment.
My young dughter will always remember Diane as we came home to search the internet for more information. Madison says we always must visit Diane whenever we come to NY.
God Bless Diane and her let her family know she will never be forgotten

I am Jean Tyler Garrick. My father Frank Tyler was a cousin to Dianne's father. My mother told me about the tragic events and our relationship. My heart aches for all her family who were left behind with only memories. From everything I read about her, she was an amazing woman. I wish I could have met her. Some day I will in Heaven.

Dear Snyder and Bullis Family-
Every time I hear the mention of 9/11 my first thought is of Dianne. Ten years have gone by and I will always remember Diane as a sweet, beautiful person!! I was good friends with her cousin Lisa Coleman. Every time Lisa came into town, which usually was to attend one of our HS reunions, I would get to see, and visit with Dianne!! Dianne was always responsible for lending Lisa's something to wear to the reunions. She would always make sure Lisa looked fabulous!!! That's the kind of person she was!!
I pray that Dianne is resting in the arms of the Lord....I pray that the Lord continues to give her family and friends strength, especially at this time marking the 10th anniversary of this tragic time in American history and all your lives!!
Please accept my deepest sympathy, and know that Dianne and her family will always be in my thoughts and prayers!
God Bless!!

August 31, 2011
my brother, john and i only learned dianne had met such tragic misfortune this week. we wish to extend our condolences belated as they may be. i remember my daughters' ( then in 2nd and 5th grade) bewilderment at how someone could do this to so many people's moms and dads. we had rented roberto begnini's "life is beautiful" just days beforehand..my kids were imploring me to explain the question we all had that day. why?? i told them it was the same evil as in the movie, just different people. as young as they were they understood immediately. I'm so sorry your entire family and dear friends have had to endure such a painful loss. I remember those far more innocent times we all grew up in in Madison fondly. Dianne was a sweet girl who never hurt anyone. John, you two were such a cute high school couple. I have no doubt you had carved out a lovely life together. John B, I remember you and my brother having fun going to basketball games, etc.
May 14, 2011
Diane,

This week I will give a speech on the September 11, 2011 Venue in your honor. Your family will always be in my prayers.

Dear Dianne, John, and family
Still thinking of you, as I do EVERY time I go to work. You are never far from my mind. A pin on my uniform to remind me of you and prayers for you and yours. You are missed. Thank
God for the US military and all the brave people around the world who fight for justice. Love you
May 04, 2011
Dianne, still thinking of all of you that we lost on September 11th. I hope your family rests just a little easier knowing the world has men like the Team 6 Navy Seals to protect us. God Bless you, your husband, daughter, son and other family and friends that have had to endure the last 10 years without you. You will never be forgotten.
May 02, 2011
Dianne, I think your family may sleep easy tonight knowing that justice has prevailed by the hands of the United States Navy.
May 02, 2011
I was remembering especially today, May 2, 2011 about 9/11 and I was thinking about Diane. I had remembered we went to Daniel Hand HS~ she dated my brother for a while and she was a few years younger than me. I found out years later about Diane and 9/11. Also, I found an old picture of our mothers at a restaurant, maybe the early 50's. My cousin, who is much older, pointed out Diane's mother sitting with my mother, who was Betty Nilsen Brennan. I grew up in Madison and my thoughts are with Diane's family.
September 13, 2010
Dianne - I just wanted to let you know as well as your family that while nine years have gone by none of you are forgotten. You never will be. God Bless you, your husband and kids and the rest of your family. Please feel the loving arms of millions of strangers who continue to feel your loss. God Bless You, Dianne

Diane,

You are remembered today and every September 11th.

The Bullis and Snyder family will forever remain in my daily prayers. Diane and I attended Daniel Hand High School together, in Madison CT.

May the following exercpt from Fr. James Sullivan, bring you all a sense of peace.

"Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room.
Whatever we were, to each other, that, we are still.

Call me by my own familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray, for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort.

Life means all that it ever meant; it is the same as it ever was. This is, absolutely, unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner, All, is well.

Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before,--only better, infinitely happier, and forever we will all be one together in Christ."

Fr. James Sullivan, friend of the Connolly family - Madison, CT.

With deepest sympathy & prayers,
Peg Connolly-Daly

I thought of Dianne the other day while gardening and planting flowers for next spring. Dianne loved flowers and being outdoors. I always think of her when my tulip and daffodil's bloom. I miss her.

There is a memorial banner in operations at AA in Chicago hanging over the staircase near to the door where employees enter and leave. The banner lists all the crew and non-revenue passengers from both Flight 11 and Flight 77. I always stop to pause and find Dianne's name just to say hello to her every time I come and leave work. She will always be a cherished part of my career at AA. She was my collegue, my classmate and my roommate, but was so much more than that. She was a special friend. She is missed and will always be fondly remembered.

I also lost some friend's from 9/11. While reviewing 9/11 and lost friend's, I viewed Bullis and researched the name. It was Diane and I added another one to my list of heart felt loss from 9/11. We were in the same grade school class K-6 every year. Celebrate her life everyday, don't mourn.

This condolence has been a long time comming. After that terrible day my husband read the flight list and said " you don't think this is Kurt's sister in-law do you? Remember the vacation we spent in the Outer Banks that year when John was just 1 year old? (Our oldest is now 22)? I did remember that vacation in 1984. We rented a house on the beach with a friend of my husbands and his family (Kurt & Kathy Schneider. I had never met Dianne until that week. But truth be told I never forgot how much fun we had. Dianne was funny, fun loving, easy to like and get along with. She and John were not yet married, she played with our son on the beach. I still have photo's of them building a sand castle. Even after all these years she stays in my mind as a beautiful spirit. I have no doubt that Dianne must have been a great daughter, mom, wife sister and friend. My deepest and most sincere sympathy to you and all.

I was just researching my family tree and found this web page. September 11, 2001, I still remember where I was standing when I heard the news. I just never thought I actually was connected to any one on the flights or working in the towers or Pentagon. Now I see this and wonder if I lost a family member that I never will know. I am truly sorry for your loss. And I just want to let everyone know that I haven't forgotten.

I stumbled accross this web page, and when I read about Dianne, I realized that I still have not forgotten about 9/11. I think about that day quite often. I felt a sense of duty to write something. My heart goes out to you all. Love eachother every minute of every day, and remember not only to spread this word, but the love it suggests.

To the Bullis family,the Snyder family, John & Dianne's beautiful children;
My on-going thoughts, prayers are with you. Your strength is to be admired. It's plain just not fair to have Dianne's life taken so early, dramatically & so tragically.
I try to think of the good memories. Of our fun @ the beach in the summers while growing-up. The great salt air, sunshine, walking barefoot, swimming & hanging-out.
I truly am sorry for your loss, seems less than an adequate expression in words. No words can be appropriate for your grief.
Take care of each other.
Love,
Cynthia Bullis

Dear John, Leland and Megan. I am Erin Coopers sister-in-law. Dianne and she were such good friends. Dianne was a real joy to every life she touched and though I didn't get to know her well, hearing so much about her, and not getting to know her better makes me sad. I have been praying for you all. Take gentle care of yourselves and one another. Maybe our paths will cross again at Joe And Erin's some time in the future. In the mean time Be strong for each other, and when you think you just can't stand it, let someone else lighten up the day. They will be glad you asked, trust me! Love, Nancy

We are from Old Lyme and on 9/11 we were preparing to go to NJ. My husband had been offered a new position and we were going to go to explore the area. Obviously, our plans changed and we spent the day watching the news. It was not until later that I read the obituarty for Dianne. I had the feeling that I would know someone who passed away during this tragedy. I learned that it was someone whom I played tennis with. Dianne played for Madison and I played for Lyme Shores. She talked about her trip to the Florida with her family to a Club Med in Port Lucia. I am a travel agent so I was very interested in her experiences...she was a great tennis player and a wonderful girl to talk to with. I am so sorry for the grief that the family and friends are dealing with. We have since relocated and are now living in Rockland County and from our house we can view the newly errected lights, the towers tribute. Please know that Dianne with always remain a special place in my heart as I knew, and played tennis, with a real hero in our new lives. Peace to the Snyder family.

To the Family of Dianne, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I did not have the priveledge of knowing her, but as I have said before, I have alot of respect for the flight crews of these planes and of those who continue to serve us in the skies. You have alot of testimony to the kind of person she was was and your own memories. Hopefully these have helped you to heal and will continue to give you comfort in the days ahead. She is in God's hand's now. Peace be with you.

I was more aware of Dianne's death than any others since many people saw her name on the internet or TV and called to see if it had been me. Since then, I have ordered a bracelet with her name on it from a Christian organization as a reminder for me to pray for her family and friends. I see this bracelet every day and pray for the Snyder and Bullis families. May you know the grace and mercy of God as you learn to live without your beloved Dianne.

May Dianne's knack for quilting, hiking, and famous chocolate chip cookies, her life and love continue living in all who love her. May precious memories of times together lighten the sorrow in your hearts. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

My husband and I received our Mercy Bands in time for our Christmas. What an emotional moment for us, as we each put on our bands and read about the person. My band has Dianne's name and I will think of her and her family daily.

To the Bullis and Synder families--

Please accept my heart-felt sympathy for the loss of Dianne.
Dianne was in my class (1977) at Hand High School. I was not personally touched by Sept. 11 until a friend of mine in Boston told me this sad news. I saw her wreath on TV one morning when the Boston service was covered and she has been on my mind since September.

On my office door at the Sage Colleges I place her name and many students came by to ask how I knew her.For four years I saw her everyday in the hall and in classes. I wish I known her better.

Not enough praise can ever be given to members of flight crews who spend virtually more time in the air than on the ground. Thank you for dedicating your life to the safety and comfort of the flying public. May all those who know and love you now take comfort in the memories of you that live on in their hearts. Americans will never forget your sacrifice.

My first thought when I heard this news is our sixth grade picture. I can see Diane in her beige turtleneck and plaid jumper. And of course those big beautiful eyes. We were young and full of fun. All of us girls, Nancy, Ellen, Sheila are sending our thoughts and prayers to her loved ones....God Bless. Susan Wiese
