Eric, we had brife conversations when we were prepering to deploy and when we were in country. In our brife conversations I could see that the comments below are so true. I wish I could have drank a few with you before we deployed. Brother from the depth of my heart thank you for your service and you will forever live in the hearts of the many left behind. Marines never die they live on in the minds and the hearts of the brothers still fighting the fight.

Dear Eric we want to thank you so much for the ultimate sacrifice, it has been so difficult to understand such a loss. Your Mom has a mission to help those in arms way I pray for God's love to hold her and comfort her and that she finds peace. Keep soaring like and Eagle.
April 01, 2017
Eric, I never had the honor of meeting you; however, I feel like I know you because I have had the honor of meeting your mother and your grandparents. You have a wonderful family and people are doing wonderful things in your name. Thank you for your service, Sir. Rest peacefully. You are loved.
April 01, 2017
Eric, it is the eve of your 11-year angelversary and I cannot believe it has been that long.
I miss you so much and want you to know that Herb and I still continue your legacy with the Palmisano Care Package Project. We are proud to have shipped 3,555 care packages since May 2006 to your brothers in arms serving overseas in harms way.
We will keep going until we just cannot do it ourselves, or until all of our troops come home safely to their loved ones.
You are missed, loved, and will NEVER be forgotten, not as long as your Madre' is breathing on this earth.
Soar like the eagle we know you are son, see you soon.
Hugs and kisses....

Eric, Thank you for your service to our country. I have never met you but I feel like I know you looking at all the pictures that are on your website. You seem to have that Marine sense of humor that keeps us going in the most trying of situations. You are not with us here on earth but you and your family are still continuing the mission taking care of the troops. Thank you, Rest in Peace and Semper Fidelis

Thank you so much Eric for your service to our country. You gave the ultimate sacrifice and there is no way to say thank you for that especially when the sacrifice you gave was your life. My son (born in 1978 also) is serving in the USAF and has been in the Middle East for more deployments than I care to count. I pray that you will continue to watch over your family as you do now. God Bless you.

LCpl. Palmisano,
Your service to your country is held with utmost respect. May you rest in eternal peace with the Lord above and continue to watch over your fellow soldiers who are apart from their families from the holes in the floor of heaven. God Bless.

Hello son. Today you are celebrating your 37th birthday, and your tenth birthday in Heaven. To your Madre, it has only been a matter of minutes, not years, since you've been gone. I am going to Grandma and Grandpa's house to have a birthday dinner for you, and we will release birthday balloons to you off of their deck. I hope you get at least one of them. Hello son,it's Mom. Here we are at 9 years now. I know there is no time in heaven but there certainly is on earth. And time really goes so slowly when I think about you and how long you have been gone. You know how much I love and miss you right? But did you also know that not one single minute of any given day goes by without me thinking about you? It's true. Your legacy lives on through our Care Package Project and I promise you son that as long as I am breathing on this earth, NO ONE will ever forget you, EVER.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Palmisano Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Eric A. Palmisano US Marine Lance Corporal. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Thank you for sending my son, Andrew Bortolini a care package to Afghanistan. He is from the Crystal Falls & Iron Mtn area. He is a part of the 144th Military Police "THE BLACKHATS". He was part of the '46th out of Cheboygan but his unit's deployment was cancelled. He and 9 of his units soldiers volunteered to go with the 144th out of Corunda Mi, which is downstate. They only had a 1 week notice but none batted an eye and swiftly made the trek below the bridge to depart. By you sending him a package, it shows the whole unit that there are supporters behind them. This is critical for positive moral and I wholeheartedly want to thank you. I have no doubt that Andrew shared the contents with as many as he could. Again, you put a smile on several faces and you should be proud of yourselves. Thanks from a military mom: Sue B.

To the family of Lance Cpl. Eric A. Palmisano:
The Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation will be honoring your loved one at the non-denominational Christian Memorial Day Remembrance worship service at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, 26 May 2013. We will remember the casualties of the Global War on Terrorism from Minnesota … and the bordering states of Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Outside of the historic Fort Snelling Veterans Memorial Chapel will be a “Memorial Garden” filled with some 300 white crosses bearing the names of the war dead … including your loved one.

The Memorial Garden will be encircled with larger white crosses representing all of the wars of our nation's history and give honor to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. Wreaths will be placed at the foot of each 8-foot cross bearing the number of U.S. Service Members killed in each of America's conflicts.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled, “Freedom:Free, but Costly.” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and there place poppies at each of the crosses. A Memorial Rifle Squad of the Fort Snelling National Cemetery will fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played. Following your visit to the Memorial Garden, your family is invited to attend an informal reception (weather permitting) outside of the Chapel. The Memorial Garden will remain until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 27 May (Memorial Day).

As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (651/286-7296) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans' name and the number of persons attending. For more information about the Foundation or driving directions to the historic chapel at Fort Snelling, visit our website at: www.fortsnellingmcf.org Special rates for nearby hotels will be available. For more information call (651/286-7296) or email the office ([email protected]) and leave your name and contact information.

Also, beginning at dusk (8:30 p.m.) on Saturday 25 May through dawn (6:30 a.m.) on Sunday, 26 May, a “Prayer Vigil for Peace” will be held in the sanctuary of the Chapel. You are invited to stop by, light a candle and place it at the foot of your loved one's cross in the Memorial Garden … and then enter the Chapel for prayer.

If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.

Respectfully,
Leila Campbell

Always Loved and never Forgotten
April 02, 2012
Eric,
6 years has passed. I am sure you already know how everything is going down here, and how much we all miss you. Your mom and Herb have put 6 years of their pain into happiness and love for other troops and their families. That takes so much strength and devotion. And love. It's like they spread he love they have for you across everyone. I hope one day to learn that strength. They have taught me so much, and so have you. I couldn't miss you more and neither could they. Until we meet again, my old friend, never forget how much you're loved.
April 02, 2012
Today marks the 6 year "angelversary" of your journey to Heaven Eric. As Herb and I spend this day reflecting on your life, we can't help but to first and foremost thank you for your sacrifice for our Freedom. You are a true Hero and we love you so much. Days/weeks/months/years may fly by, but to your mom they will always be minutes...minutes of joy, love, happiness, memories and also pain. The pain of heartbreak is unbearable sometimes, but our faith pulls us through those times, and knowing that we will one day see you again most definitely keeps us going. So today we celebrate your life, your humor, your intelligence, your love and thoughtfulness and most of all your heart. You had the biggest heart of all...I will always love that about you. Please give our love to everyone with you in Heaven, and please know that you will live on in our hearts forever....

Until we meet again son,
All our love always,
Mom & Herb

Res in Peace weary Soldier Rest in Peace, job well done, mission complete...
August 31, 2011
Here we are again Eric. Another birthday. Although I am positive birthdays have to be better in Heaven than they are here, we still miss you very much. You're never far from my thoughts and your picture looks out over my home and my life every day. You're mom and dad are a blessing and we do our best down here.
Love you,

Hello son, it's Mom. I am having some pretty rough days lately..you have been on my mind so much. Maybe it's because Herb is in Iraq now, finishing your mission, and I am home alone. But oh how I miss you so. I read a lot about how the spirits return to us in different ways - I see Eagles all the time and they remind me of you. I am praying so hard that you come to me in a dream or some other way that I would know it was you. Please son, could you do that for me? I love you and miss you so much.

Hello son, today we are driving to Chicago to visit with you for your birthday. I know you are not at that cemetery, but it is the closest I can get to you on this earth. I love you so much and am so very proud of you. I miss you son, I really miss you. My heart aches every day. 4 1/2 years later and it still seems like 2 weeks or less. The pain and the memories are so very fresh in my mind. I hope you have a wonderful, joyous birthday in Heaven. Do they celebrate birthdays in Heaven? Hugs right back to you son.

I just wanted to post this thank you for watching over him during his mission, and for guiding him down the roads he needed to travel, and for being his guardian angel every step of the way. Hello son. Your ole' ma has been having some pretty difficult, emotional days lately. These holidays always make it so much harder to accept the fact that you really are gone. But of course you KNOW how busy we have been with your Care Package Project, your newly formed and soon to be non-profit Foundation, your Scholarship Program, and LOTS of other ventures and memorials, all in your memory. You made my life so rewarding son, and now I want to show you my gratitude for you as my son as well as the best !#$%$%^& Marine the Corps ever knew! I love you son. Keep 'em smiling up there ok?

To the family of Lance Cpl. Eric A. Palmisano:
The Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation will be honoring your loved one at the non-denominational Memorial Day Sunday worship service at 11:00 a.m. on 30 May 2010. We will remember the casualties of the Global War on Terrorism from Minnesota … and the neighboring states of Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Outside of the historic Fort Snelling Veterans Memorial Chapel will be a “Memorial Garden” filled with white crosses bearing the names of the war dead … including your loved one.

The Memorial Garden will be encircled with larger white crosses to represent all of the wars in United States history and give honor to all who have served their country and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain Col. Kenneth L. Beale, Jr., will preach a message entitled “A Day of Remembrance.” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and place poppies at each of the crosses. An honor guard squad will be on hand to fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played. Following your visit to the memorial garden, your family is invited to attend an informal reception; weather permitting will be outside of the Chapel.

As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To do so, kindly call (612/970-7866) and leave a voice message indicating your veterans’ name and the number of persons attending. For more information about the Foundation or driving directions to the historic chapel at Fort Snelling, visit our website at: www.fortsnellingmcf.org Special rates for nearby hotels will be available. For more information call (612/970-7866) or email ([email protected]) the office and leave your name and contact information.

Also, beginning at dusk (8:30 p.m.) on Sat 29 May through dawn (6:30 a.m.) on Sun 30 May, a “Prayer Vigil for Peace” will be held in the sanctuary of the Chapel. You are invited to stop by, light a candle and place it at the foot of your loved one’s cross in the Memorial Garden … and then enter the Chapel for prayer.

If you are not able to attend, we pray that you would find comfort in knowing that our prayers are with you and all of the fallen heroes.

What a loving tribute to your son. Anyone that sees this website can easily see the love you have for him. The work you are doing for the military is inspiring.
April 02, 2010
I did not know Eric. I read your story on CNN and was emotionally moved by what you have done in his memory. Eric and the other fallen soldiers, including my dad (at age 23, USArmy March 13, 1962), serve as an inspiration and reminder that our freedom to go about our daily lives and enjoy this wonderful land of God's comes with a high sacrifice just as Jesus sacrificed his life for us all.
God bless you and your family for your donations to the troops.
April 02, 2010
My thoughts and prayers are with you always but especially today Bobbie. It's been four years and I still can't forget your wonderful son. Such a good heart. I'm proud of you, your husband and the care package project and I know Eric is too. God Bless!

Dear Palmisano Family, We met today briefly at the Iron Mt. VA Hospital and you gave my husband, Bob, a photo pin of your son. I asked a few people here if they knew you and none did, so i looked up your name on the web. I am so sorry for your loss. Our son, Matt, is a purple heart vet of the Iraqi War and I know how close a bullet wound can come to the soul of a mom and dad and family. My heart goes out to you, as i know the many nights i prayed that Matt would come home. Please know this mother's heart is with you as a family as well as my husband, Bob, who has been hospitalized since Jan. 4, 2009, with a stroke which was military related with the 82nd Airborne. May the Lord keep us all close to His heart as we wait for His son's appearing and our days of suffering will be over on this earth. With sincere love, Bob and Caroline Marchant

I miss you so much Eric. Every single day. I hope you are enjoying Heaven. I cant wait to see you again. I love you son. I know you are proud of our Care Package Project. We just crossed over the 600 mark!! All in just 3 years, and all with donations from our community, friends, family and church.

P.S. I saw Hannah yesterday, your Big Bear. She is thriving with Jenny and Steve. They are guardian angels for sure!

Three years ago today so many families were thrown into an endless nightmare when that truck rolled over into the water. My family was one of them as my nephew was also on that truck. Only families who have been through this can truly understand how it feels. I am so sorry the loss of these fine men. Not a day goes by that I don't think of them appreciate them so much for what they were willing to sacrifice for their country.
God be with you all on this difficult day and the others ahead. I know that our soldiers will be watching over us until the day that we see them again.

Dearest Eric- Not a day goes by that you are not missed by so many people. We are all so happy that you had as many years with all of us as you did, however, we all wanted more time with you. You have been on my mind so strong today and I really feel the honor of saying that I knew you as you were such an amazing young man. Eric, as we approach the 3 year anniversary of your tragic death, I want you to know that not a day (or moment) goes by that I dont think about you and how much I love and miss you, your smile, your amazing sense of humor, and your kind spirit. You were a wonderful son, so thoughtful and loving, and I cannot wait until the day we meet again. Keep smiling son and please be there to greet me at the Gate - I miss you so much.

I knew Eric for a long time. We went to high school together and he was always making a joke or maybe making fun of me. LOL. I had not seen Eric since we graduated in 1996. When I met up with Matt in 2008 he told me the terrible news of losing Eric. I was so devasted and sad. I feel honored to have known him and have nothing but hilarious memories of him and some of the best ones spent in our English honors class. We were all friends and thank goodness we have these lasting memories of him. Rest in Peace Eric and God Bless you. With much love, Michelle

Dear Parents of Eric A Palmisano, USMC,

When I saw his beautiful face, so full of life, I was deeply moved. So much promise, so much love yet to give and receive. I wish he had had many more years with you and his young wife. He will be remembered because he was a good, honest, kind man. He will be remembered because of the love that he gave you. He will be remembered because honor came from his belief in something bigger than himself..to love and care for others. Being a Marine, and ,I imagine, a good son, a good man were his passions...as they are for so many who fill these pages in remembrance. May his passion, his love keep you safe. May his name be blessed every day and may his soul and light fill the heavens illuminating sky and star alike.

You are remembered paisano, and are saluted daily by the twnkling of each star.

Eric-

Hello my old friend, you are still missed. Your mother is a force to reckoned with, I swear. For Christmas she has already sent out 109 packages. Some to Sean (my husband) too. He really appreciates them. He and his platoon were all excited last time to get the silly string. They are not kicking down doors, so they planned to use it to celebrate when they won a softball game. As it turns out they never won any, but they still celebrated anyway! My point of course, is that Bobbie and your packages make the deployed Marines happy if only for a moment.

Merry Christmas Eric and I will miss you always.

Hello my sweet beloved son. I wanted to say that 3 years ago today we attended your Boot Camp Graduation and that we could not have been more proud of you - you looked so HANDSOME in your uniform - I remember how you struggled (and how your hands were shaking) to put your EGA pin on your cover - you wanted it to be just perfect. Well it was son. It was. We love and miss you more than ever.

Hugs to you with pride and joy..

Eric-
So much has happened since you left us. I wish you were here to help us laugh, give us your wonderful insight, and just give us a piece of the amazing spirit you had.

I spent most of today looking through pictures of you, and weeping uncontrollably just feeling such an honor and priviledge to have had the opportunity to have had you touch both myself and Zack. He still cherishes the Lakers jersey his uncle Eric gave him :) And he still thinks his bedtime is 5 am!!!

So much emotion overtakes me looking at these pictures. Then I think about your little Claire, and am so happy that before you had to leave us, you had a chance to experience such an unconditional and amazing love as the two of you had together, as that kind of love is so rare and unique. Most people spend there whole lives searching for that kind of love, however, you and your brother have a sensational way of opening your hearts and giving all you can to the one you love. I know she still misses you so much, and has tried to be so strong, however, this is the hardest journey without you by her side. I hope your memories comfort her and continue to give her strength.

Your other little girl, Hannah, she has been doing amazing things as well, and I know you are so proud of her and we are so glad your spirit lives on with her and is able to help others.

I added some pictures that brought back some memories. I am so happy you touched my life and I will never forget you, believe me you are missed by all of us. Keeping looking down over us all until we come to heaven to see you again.
May 08, 2008
So sorry for the loss of your wonderful, handsome son Eric. He will always be remembered in my prayers. Proud mom of two marines who served in Iraq.

I still remember being on the message board and following the news, just waiting and hoping. It brought it close to home that even though I thought my son was in a *safe* job, accidents happen! Just know that even though I may not have known him, I remember!
November 11, 2007
Eric,
Ever since your your mother gave me a pin of you in my polanca mail at youth encounter, I feel as though I have known you for a long time. The night I pinned your picture next to my bed, to remeber and pray for your family, I met you in a dream. I hope I will be seeing you again sometime, it just makes me feel that much closer to God when I dream a conversation with those who have passed. I want to thank you for your amazing dedication, and I hope that someday, I would make you as proud as you have made me, when serve in the Air Force.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

May 31, 2007
We miss you, Eric. I still talk to a lot of Marines from Alpha Company -- where you and I first served together. Your picture stays up in my house all the time, watching every moment of my life. You are our angel and I know you are watching over the Marines in Iraq. My husband is leaving for Iraq soon. I wish you had met him. You would have liked each other. I am scared for him, but I know you will be with him, just as you are with us. Bobbie and I share stories of you all the time. You always made me feel better. I know you are proud of her, and I take every chance I get to tell her that. I love you Eric, and I will see you whenever I get there.
May 30, 2007
You are my hero. I am truely grateful and I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for protecting us and our country. You will always be remembered.
I wish had the pleasure of meeting you.
Rest in peace sweet angel
May 28, 2007
To a true hero- thank you for your service. We will never forget.
May 26, 2007
I recently returned from Iraq, and just learned of Eric's death... I couldn't be more sorry for all of you. I recall him as a young man, full of energy, and laugh. I am terribly proud that he found a higher calling and joined the Marines. It is small comfort, and I cry for Eric; but please take some solace in the fact that he perished amongst brothers and friends, doing exactly what he wanted to do. God bless, my prayers are with you.

To the family of Lance Cpl. Eric A. Palmisano:
The Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation will be honoring your loved one at the non-denominational Memorial Day Sunday worship service at 11:00 a.m. on 27 May, 2007.

I would like to extend to your family an invitation to honor us with your presence at worship as we pay tribute to the sacrifice made by your service member and family. Our pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain, LTC Kenneth L. Beale, Jr. will preach a message entitled “Remembering” At the conclusion of the worship hour, all of the congregation will be invited to silently pay their respects at the garden and place poppies at each of the crosses. An honor guard squad will be on hand to fire vollies as the US flag is lowered to half-staff and Taps is played.

As this Christian worship service has traditionally been well attended, we would be happy to reserve seating for you and yours. To Bobbie and family

In time, there will come a day when the tears of sorrow will softly flow into sighs of remembrance. Your heart will begin to heal itself.

Grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy; and you will hear the whisper of hope.

There will come a day when you will welcome the pangs of remembrance as a sun shower of the soul; a turning of the tide; the promise of peace.

There will come a day when you will risk loving, go on believing,
and treasure the remembering.

Eric was a very good and brave man. There are not enough words to express what he has meant to those he served with. You have much to be proud of. We pray that our Savior – in whose presence he now rests – will comfort you and ease the pain of this loss.

There are also not enough words to describe how much you mean to all of us at Marine Parents. Your son was a US Marine and part of our family, his loss affects us all. You are also a part of our extended family and your pain & suffering, wisdom, words of advice are treasured by all of us.

Please know that we have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

To LCpl Palmisano's family,
My deepest sympathies to your family. I lost my son Cpl Brett Lundstrom on Jan. 7, 2006 in Fallujah, Iraq. I feel your pain. I know there isn't anything anyone can say to lessen your pain. The pain is excruciating. I still panic when I think about how I will never see my beloved son in this lifetime again, but he will be waiting on the other side when I get there and that gives me comfort.
I am so sorry for your loss. May the Lord watch over your family.
Thank you, Doyla Lundstrom and family

I went to Motor T MOS school with Eric, then LVS School, then Pendleton. I just found out today, when I was looking at my SSgt.'s Marine Corps Times. I saw his picture and didn't even have to read the name. As a Marine and a friend of Eric's I am in complete grief. My husband is also a Marine, so I send my deepest sympathy to the family, and to his fiance. If you need anything, just let me know. Eric was a great Marine, but even that is not as important as a being a great man.

Although the time I spent with Eric was often sporadic and short; the memories that were made when he was in Cincinnati (visiting Claire’s family) will be forever etched in my heart. Eric was concidered a member of our “family”. He fit in; not because no one noticed him at our circus like family functions, but because people did notice him. When Eric was around Claire was happy, our family was happy. He is a hero, and his memory will live on forever in our hearts. Thank you Eric for the gift of freedom…Semper Fi

Eric's family and friends: Please know you all are in my prayers night and day. He was a great man who was to be my brother-in-law. He was funny, smart, and good looking. He would have been a good husband to my sister, Claire. My parents mourn for him like they would their own son. My entire family is in shock. It is such a blessing to find this site and people who didn't even know him who are praying for him, his family and friends and who are thankful for his sacrifice. God bless you all. Your sentiments are not lost. They will be carried in the hearts of many forever.
Thank you.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Eric's family. He was an absolutely wonderful person and I shared so many wonderful times with him. We was a joy to be around and a very loyal friend. My childhood and teen years wouldn't have been the same without him. It's not every day that you make a connection with someone like that, but Eric and I shared a very special friendship. He definitely kept me laughing. :) He will be greatly missed. He touched my life and his family should be proud of the man that Eric turned out to be.

You don't know us directly, probably just by name, but we want to express our deepest sympathy in the loss of your son. We are very proud of him and the United States is a better place because of him and his services to the Marines. May God watch over you and your family at this time. May you find the strength in prayer and loved ones.

You are all in our prayers. How proud you must be of Eric. He gave for all of us.

We will miss him and enjoy all the good memories but can't imagine your great loss. He and our Jeff had so many great times together and always took care of each other. God bless you all

My thoughts and prayers go to Eric's family. My son Nicholas played soccer with Eric in Brandon, Fl when they were young. I fondly remember Eric. what a great soccor player and a nice young man. Nicholas has wonderful memories of those years.

Eric, we knew you when you were so very young,
Even as a child you were so much fun
Your handsome smile brightened every room
And your mischievous ways lightened so many days.

Your passion for life and fun spilled over to everyone.
Our family times together, so many years ago,
Still generate fond and loving memories of which
We will never let go.

Catelyn was only four when you were her very first crush.
With your nature to tease, you could always make her blush Even at four she saw your special light within and
Would always come to you for a playful fight again.

Please know that you are the bravest hero to us all.
You are a glory to this country and to everything you are.
A man that served his nation: proud, strong and tall.
From a little boy’s laughter to the courage of a man,
We are all safer because you took a stand.

God, please walk with this brave soldier side by side
Please comfort his loved ones that were left behind.
Please carry their grief when the burden is too heavy
Eric sacrifice is great and his loved ones so many.
Eric’s heavenly presence will always be a part of the Countrymen he died for and our loving hearts.

Love to Eric and all his loved ones from Dale and Catelyn

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile

To the Family of Lance Cpl. Eric A. Palmisano:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
