Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let you and your family and friends know that we have made a small donation to the Green Beret Foundation to honor and remember Girard David Gass Jr. US Army Staff Sergeant.
We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals across the American youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

To the family and close friends of Jerry, I send my deepest thoughts and prayers. I went to Hanahan with Jerry and had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a wonderful person and always put others first. We spent a lot of time cooking muffins in home economics. I will treasures those fond memories of Jerry always. Thank you for your service to this country. You and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. With much love, Tiffany Morales Gregory

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Girard will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed.
But I salute you; allow me the honor to salute you with permission let me say. Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part. I salute you.
For those missing in action;for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor to salute you with permission let me say even though I hold no rank know that from my heart my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.

From the Lemarr family, I want to express our deepest condolences, Jerry was an amazing person, I watched him play at Hanahan HS as he attended school with my daughter Elizabeth and my son Eddie, along with his brother Jesse. The love for his family and friends was always known and was a true showing of how his Mother and Father raised him. His love for his country was truly shown by is accomplishments he made in short time he served in the military. Not most men or women make the strides he made in a 6 years with out loving what he did. May God be with his family during this tragedy.

Thinking of the Gass family, his SF brothers and friends. What an amazing man to have touched so many lives in such a short 33 years. God speed.

Thank you all for your sympathy and prayers. Instead of flowers please consider a donation, perhaps Wounded Warrior Project, Green Beret Foundation, or something for dogs. He loved them too. Let your heart be your guide.
