We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Adamouski Family know that we have made a small donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to honor James Francis Adamouski US Army Captain. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals across the American youth hockey community and beyond. ”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,000 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

Jimmy,

I miss you buddy - I still remember the times the two of us used to run the perimeter and the times we shared in Albania during the deployment there in 99. I think of you often while flying here in Iraq - I'll see you in Heaven, my friend.

I never had the Honor to meet Jim but work with his dad Frank. He tells me stories that bring pride to his heart and a tear to his eye when he talks about Jim. It is amazing to see Frank beam when he talks of Jim's accomplishments. I feel somehow I know him through his father. The families loss is Americas gain for freedom.

Dear Brave Capt. James F. Adamouski,

How right your father was when he said you are an American hero. You seemed to live your life to the hilt. Your life speaks of accomplishment to me. You seem like a person not only to look up to, but a person pretty much everyone would just want to hang out, watch a game and have a beer with. Your family is so proud of you and it's easy to see why. It must have been such an honor to have a son like you. Rest in peace brave soldier. You've done your duty and we can ask no more of you, as they say. And now you fly with angels in a land where you shine like the Sun.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know James, but he is my hero.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

We can't imagine what you have been going through since being notified of the death of your Warrior. The Military and families all over the USA and world are grieving with you and praying for you. What a very brave individual you have in your family that would give up a life for their homeland and its people so they can remain free. Your Freedom Fighter has served the Country above and beyond the call of duty, let no one ever tell you different. With the mission now completed your Warrior has been redeployed to Heaven to sit on the right hand of the Supreme Commander and Chief. The Father above has James in his arms and will give him peace as well as eventually easing your pain and suffering. God speed to you and Capt. James F. Adamouski, our HERO. We are so proud of them that are willing to sacrifice for this great Nation, THANK YOU.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I cant say I ever had the honor of meeting Capt. Adamouski, although at Hunter I could have passed Him by a hundred times and smiled or waved as we all tend to do here..odd how so many of us walk in and out of the lives of these soldiers everyday but forget for a moment to stop and say thank you..thank you for what you have done and are doing for us..until moments like these come.

being a military fiance, I stood and watched the guys leaving Hunter heading to iraq..I saw their faces..proud and strong..all brave in their own way..some afraid but never letting it show..
I lost many friends over there and its a loss that never truly fades..so I send my prayers and sympathy to you and your family for your loss..no words can ever change whats happened..so I will say only this You gave the world a hero and for that we give you the thanks that we can no longer give them.
July 05, 2005
