Death isnt never easy. But keep in mind God only takes the best. He may not be here physically but spirtually he is here. Everywhere. Take care.
We lost a great football player, yet a better man. RIP, in the house of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ~!
Absent in the body, present with the LORD!
In a better place REST IN PEACE!
We lost our "second son" when Ron passed away. He brought joy whenever he was in our home and on the phone. God must have been lonesome and needed a good laugh when he took Ron to be with him. Adriane was considered a daughter to us and knows how much she and her family are loved by us. Ethelyn, you are still in our heart even though it has been several years since we have seen each other. His memory will never die. "Coach" and "Mama" Luhn, Coffeyville, Ks.
May you rest in peace. I am a die hard Cowboys fan and grew up watching number 20. May God continue to bless your family.

I'll always remember him as a friend and consummate professional.

Ron may have been from the Williamsburg area his heart was as big as his adopted home state of Texas. I first met Ron through football camps with the Hampton Roads youth foundation and we became fast friends. I had him at the dealership to sign autographs on a few occassions and he was always the "life of the party". He made sure everyone was always taken care of. He was just one of those rare guys that knew his status as a Pro made him a role model and he made sure to always be the best he could be. Will miss you Ron... prayers to all of your family. I thank God I got to know you!

Ronnie was one of the greatest football players the Coffeyville Red Ravens ever had. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to coach and be a small part of his life. He came back to Coffeyville many times after his playing days. He will be remembered by a lot of those people for all the good things he did for our community and the state of Kansas.
God Bless the family.

Ron was a kind and incredibly generous person who never lost sight of the values we grew up with in Williamsburg.
He made his family and
hometown very proud. I'm grateful to Everson for being a
faithful friend until the end. I'm
also thankful for the memories of good times shared,
especially at the Tabb family

fashioned fun (much to Coach
Landry's dismay LOL) You will
always be remembered for
your wicked sense of humor,
being a good cook, love of
music, your impeccable taste
in clothes, and devotion to
family. Thank you for making it
possible for me to see my first
NFL game. My thoughts and
prayers are with Shawn,

Being a huge footbal fan I heard about Ron and Everson's story on the national news a few years back and would think of Ron from time to time wondering how he was doing. I too am a kidney transplant recipient (2 times) and am almost the same age as Ron and know all too well about dialysis and transplantion. I am deeply saddened to hear about his passing. I was a big fan when he played and will always be one. I pray for his family to find comfort in knowing his fight with pain and sickness is over and that he is resting in God's hands. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Springs family. I met him once while he was a Dallas Cowboy and got his autograph, and he struck me as one of the most genuine professional athletes that I was ever privileged to meet. He was one of my favorite players to root for, and that continued when I found out about his medical situation in 2004. My family's prayers will continue for your family.
My sincerest and deepest sympathies in your loss of a great man, father, brother, friend, and competitor. I enjoyed the years he played with Dallas. I knew of the bond he and Everson created. I was touched to hear that Everson gave of himself so that Ron can live. Now Ron is returning the love in keeping you all safe. RIP Ron Springs-no one looked better wearing #20!
To Ron's mother, Ethelyn: My son was in the next room to your son at Medical Center. They were both born in 1956. Our family would see yours in the waiting room and we sympathized with your situation. My son had cancer but was cured. Medical City did a routine operation to take out the calcified matter, but he never came out of the anesthetic. He died on February 23,2008. All of this so you will know that I know how you are feeling to lose a son. May God be with you and the family. The Serenity Prayer has helped me immensely.

I send my deepest condolences and prayers out to you. I never knew Ron but I saw him at the dialysis center the week before he received Everson's kidney. He was finishing up his dialysis treatments and I was starting mine at the same dialysis center in Plano. I was so happy for him and he was very happy, too, I could tell by the smiles on his face that day. I know he is happy where he is now as well. May God bless you and keep you Ron Springs.
To Ron Springs family--I remember sitting in front of the television while living at home watching Ron play his best for Woody Hayes. Ron wasn't the only best of the best players who Woody wanted to get before any other Big 10 coaches who also probably would love to have had him. There were Tom Cousineau, Archie Griffen, Bob Bruzinski who I'm sure were proud to play with Ron. There are already some former "Buckeyes" who have been waiting for him to play again up in Heaven and Woody Hayes as the coach. I'm sure by now Ron has met up with no other than Schembechler "Bo" catching up with the news of how long it's been since "The Team Up North" has beaten O.S.U. Ron will go down as one of the many greats who played for "The Buckeyes". GO BUCKS!, Ron.
RIP my "Cowboy" friend! You will be truly missed. I am a Cowboy fan forever, but God wanted you to play on His team now.
My Condolences and prayers are with you and your family. I am so very sorry for their loss.

It was a real pleasure to watch Ron in the Ohio State backfield. Likewise as a Cowboy and Bucaneer. I though the relationship he and Emerson had was fantastic for the youth to see and be able to relate to not only as athletes but as men. Sure Woody was at the gates to greet him and told Ron to get his gear on and get into a game.
I enjoyed watching you play for the Cowboys. Thank you for all of the thrilling moments on the field. My deepest sympathy to all of Ron's family and friends.

Watching Ron play against Denbigh High School in the early/mid-1970s were experiences I never forgot. I followed his career through Coffeyville, Ohio State, and the Cowboys (even though I'm a Giants fan...smile). He was one heck of a guy and we pass our deepest condolences on to you all.
Respecfully, Gerry Jones, Denbigh High School Class of '76
Ron was a member of the "old guard" for the Cowboys, the last of a great era that had heros instead of wanna-bes, guys who played like it really meant something more than just money, and they all had that sense of family and total team play. Rest well on the final gridiron Ron. Thank you for all that you were.
~An old Dalls Fan~
To Ron's entire family, may God give you the strength to endure, for we know that all things are possible through Christ Jesus. He is gone, but not forgotten. We will always remember Ron and the cowboys during the Landry years. God Bless. Jo Ann
