Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Gurr Family know that we recently made a small donation to the Semper Fi Fund in honor of Daniel D. Gurr US Marine Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I was moved to see that American brothers and sisters are still posting condolences on this site . I along with a half dozen Marine Brothers , Korean and Viet Nam eras , attended Sergeant Daniel Gurr's funeral . We had a long time to and from Salt Lake to reflect on the reason we were attending Daniel's Service . The drive there was solemn , yet the return was full of conversation of the beautiful service and tribute to a great young Man , Son , Brother , Marine. I am reminded daily of Daniel, as I have the picture of "Daniel's Miracle Flag" with the Cross in the field of Stars on the kitchen side of my garage door, along with a picture of Daniel . Challenge coins are a small gift , but I'm glad I was able to leave a few of our Marine Challenge coins with your family. My younger son was killed 11 and a half years ago , (car accident) he was 21 at the time and had spent time in Our Corps to experience what I had. I think about him every day and know that one day will be blessed to see him again. May God bless you all and comfort you ! I sleep well at night due to the sacrifices of Men like your son Daniel, I'm sorry that so many of these great Men are taken from us at a young age . Semper Fi , Jack Murphy
