Today is the 65th anniversary of the premier of GUNSMOKE. At last, the 20th Season is available on DVD, so I remember you with much affection and admiration. I’m glad I shared this planet with you. You made the world a much better place, and you will never be forgotten. Matt Dillon IS a legend—along with Zeb Macahan of HOW THE WEST WAS WON—but only James Arness could have made them both that way. You, James Arness, are my number one hero—quiet, sensitive, private, funny, humble, honest, ethical, intelligent, kind. Though we never met, you are someone very special and important to me. I will always love you. So, here’s to you, Matt--I’ll buy you a beer someday! Thanks for 635 episodes and 5 TV movies—for 39 years as one iconic character, a record no actor can equal. Say hello to Kitty, Doc, Chester, Festus, Quint, and your faithful old horse(s), Buck.

I will always and forever love Gunsmoke! I watch it everyday that I can find it on TV. Loved the whole cast! I watch so much I feel as if I know them. May they all RIP.
