john was a year older than i. we had gone to st charles together and then st josephs by the sea. We were not super close in st charles but we knew each other through a mutual friend John Kline who i was friendly with at st. charles. I got to know John Tierney better and he started driving me to high school when he was old enough. I remember Johns beat up cj-7 that kept stalling on the way to school but he would be able to rig it so that it ran well enough to get the job done. I remember john picking me up at my house and he never needed to beep the horn. The sound of led zepellins stairway to heaven always made sure i was ready to come out of the house as john loved to blast that song from his jeep with his rigged house speakers that were soooo big in the back of the jeep. haha. I think of John tierney often. Always fondly and always with love. Taken way too soon from all of us but never forgotten. NEVER FORGOTTEN. R.I.P. John. love ya. Robert brullo.

On 9/7/19 I had the honor of carrying the photo of Hero Firefighter John Tierney at the San Diego 9-11 Stair Climb. It was an emotional moment when they proudly gave me his photo. On the climb, I was in the company of my Firefighter/Paramedic husband and other firefighters from his department. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and fire department brothers and sisters. Never forget.
