May 23, 2020 My father grew up with Mort Walker in the northeast sector of Kansas City, MO. In his later years we would drive my father around his old neighborhood and he never failed to point out Mort Walkers house. Sadly, my father passed away in May, 2018, also at age 94. RIP Mort Walker. Bill Van Buskirk, Overland Park, KS February 12, 2019 Neal, We are very sorry to learn of Mort's passing. He left behind a tremendous legacy which has been, and will be, enjoyed my millions. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. I grew up on Beetle Bailey and the funnies. Years later, he became a model to our son, an amateur cartoonist and lover of "Mr. Walker's Work." Then, several years later, as a museum consultant I received a call from Mort and Katherine, asking me to work on the International Museum of Cartoon Art in Boca Raton and later in New York City. He was a man of deep passion and intelligence, a great talent, visionary and collector (what a collection)--with a zest for life and deep love of family. One might be able to "erase cartoonists as they age," but Mort and influence endure forever. Marjorie Share, Washington, DC
