Dear Maureen and Family,

I extend my prayers and sympathy to you at the passing of Tony from this world. It was great to renew an old friendship at the Queen of Peace Class of '59 reunion, and to enjoy your company on several occasions in CT (and the wedding in FL).
May God grant him a well-deserved place in heaven, and may all the joy, humor, wit and kindness that he showed us throughout his life live long in our minds and hearts.
I especially will remember him at Mass in my church on his birthday.
With deep sympathy,
Monsignor Tom

Shocked and saddened to hear this news. So enjoyed catching up with Tony at the 50th Eighth grade reunion in Pa. and to meet his lovely wife. So sorry for the family's loss.

In the summer of 1998, I was looking to relocate my family to the area from San Francisco and happened by St. Catherine's as the annual picnic was winding down. Tony was the first person I met, and his friendliness, enthusiasm and persuasiveness certainly influenced my decision to call Simsbury home. "You don't want to be anywhere else" he insisted, handing me a cigar, and he was absolutely right. In the years that followed, he was ever the reliable and wise counselor.

Funny, generous, smart, opinionated and honorable beyond decent, Tony was also a rock solid friend. My heart aches at his passing, and I offer my deepest sympathies to Maureen, Julie and the rest of the Pereira family.

Sending you all love. May you find peace in the many happy memories you all created together and the backyard stay abuzz with laughter, singing, and good times!
