My Condolences to Barbara's family.

It was through my friend Jamie that I became acquainted with Barbara. In addition to being neighbors, Barbara and Jamie enjoyed many jaunts together to various places and shared a common interest in exploring the countryside and attending a variety of events.

Over the past two years, the three of us occasionally would meet for lunch, a play or a movie. When Barbara became seriously ill, I was struck by her fortitude and courage. Even though I didn't know her well, I was impressed by the unwavering love she held for her departed husband, how she cherished family, and of course her deep affection for dogs. I did enjoy meeting one of her grandchildren, the amazing Katie who made her grandmother very proud.

The lasting impression I have of Barbara was just a few weeks ago when we attended the play Annie. She looked good and was ready with her peppery quips on everything. Again, I was moved by the stouthearted way she faced her illness and her enduring faith.

To her family, my deepest sympathies.

Ann Beaudin
