Dennis Letendre Obituary

Dennis P. Letendre, 61, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center on Monday (September 3, 2018). Born on June 29, 1957 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Paul H. Letendre and Germaine M. (Trudeau) Letendre and had lived in the area all his life. Dennis was a graduate of the Howell Cheney Technical High School, class of 1975. Dennis is survived by his beloved sister, Lorraine Morris and husband Mark of Ellington; his niece, Jennifer Marchione and husband Frank and their children Paige and Ava of New Hartford; his nephew, Justin Morris and fiancée Jenna Waldron of Charlotte, NC, as well as two close friends, John Murray and Rich Pilius, who Dennis considered the brothers he never had. In addition, he leaves aunts, uncles and cousins. Dennis was a humble, faith- filled gentleman who had a great deal of empathy and compassion for others. He had a warm demeanor and a way of befriending the people he met along the way. Dennis' family would like to give thanks to the special staff and administration at Riverside, his extended family, for all the care, compassion and support they provided to him over the years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (September 15) at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Church (Community of SS Isidore and Maria at St. Paul Church) 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Donations in Dennis' memory may be made to Resident Council Fund (at Riverside Healthcare) c/o Scott Emmons, Riverside Health & Rehab Center, 745 Main St., East Hartford, CT 06108 or the Christopher & Dana Reeves Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hill, NJ 07078. Sending my sincere condolences to the Family, I've known Dennis for more than 20 years. He was always so pleasant yet he was loved by many. I worked at Riverside for ten years and during that time had the pleasure of taking care the dad as well. I left Riverside in 2006 but always wondered how Dennis was doing and went to see him a few times while my mom was a patient there and just saw him on September 1. Who knew it would be my last, he will truly be missed. I know he will be a beautiful Angel, may his soul rest in perfect peace. This has truly touched my heart, prayers for all of his family.
