Lawrence Richard Duff (Larry), 82, of Manchester, CT, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Manchester Manor. He was born on April 5, 1935, in Hartford, CT, son of the late Harold and Claire Trial Duff. Larry graduated from Manchester High School, class of 1954, Ward School of Electronics, and served in the U.S. Army. He served as President of Manchester Midget Football and was Cub Master for Pack 54. He was Grand Knight of the Campbell Council of the Knights of Columbus in Manchester. Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Harriett Flavell Duff, his sons and their wives, Lawrence Jr. and Holly of Tacoma Park, MD, and Paul and Jill of Vernon, CT. He is also survived by grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Megan, Jenna and Sophia, as well as eleven nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Robert. Family and friends are invited to the greet family at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017. The funeral will take place directly at St. Bridget's Church, 80 Main St., Manchester, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 30 E 33rd St. New York, NY 10016 OR the Eighth District EMT Fund, 138 Main St. Manchester, CT 06042. DEAR HARRIET AND FAMILY,
I'VE LOST ANOTHER DEAR OLD FRIEND AND FORMER CLASS OF 1954 MHS GRAD AS WELL AS AN OLD COOPER HILL STREET NEIGHBOR, AND IT MAKES ME VERY SAD. LARRY DID, HOWEVER, SUFFER GREATLY OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS AND IS NOW AT PEACE!
