I worked with Mr. Hurst in the early '70's at the Travelers Data Center. I never forgot how gentlemanly he was and his great smile! In fact, years later my young family visited Hurst Farm in Andover and he came outside from his home to greet us. I am so sorry for his passing. God Bless Mr. Hurst and his family. Sincerely, Patricia Hopkins Wilson

Dear Aunt Pat and family, I'm sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Uncle Jim was a great man and he was part of a great generation that answered the call to serve their nation and the world at a critical time. And he did it fearlessly and with humility. I'm proud to call him "Uncle Jim". May God bless you and your family.

So Sorry for Your Loss...

Uncle Jim was always such a inspiration with the farm and everything he was so talented at. I had spent many days up on the hill and all I can say is the world is a lesser place right now without Uncle Jim. My heart is heavy right now thinking about the loss of such a grand man. He made great pickles and could build a wall... all in one day.
