Sorry to hear the sad news of Leon's passing. I had been thinking of him often of late, and decided to try to reconnect. Tears in my eyes as I discovered that I am too late. Leon and I
went to school together and I am so happy and proud to have shared a part of our lives
together. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Leon was a dear friend and colleague. He stood out as one of the great history professors. Leon made such a strong case for good architecture and good design. As a professor he had unlimited depth of understanding of architecture that is not found in todays build fast and fashionable world.

History of Architecture was not only knowledge for Leon but a passion. He understood what made architecture worth while and how good architecture made for a better society. He was one of a kind.

He will be missed. Certainly, for his knowledge of architecture but perhaps more for his great sense of humor and being a great human being. I always looked forward to seeing Leon at the University of Minnesota College of Architecture, both in his class and as a juror on students projects.

He was a model architect and set very high standards. We are all better architects and better people because of Leons influence. My condolences to his family and all who knew him.

I had Leon for a class at the U of M on Rennisance architecture. He was a dedicated and wonderful teacher and mentor. He will be greatly missed here in Minnesota and will be remembered through his extensive body of work.

Dear Jane, Christina, and Sheila.

Leon leaves a fine legacy as a wonderfully knowledgeable professor who cared deeply about art, architecture and music.

He encouraged through his example and, for the privileged few, a well chosen word spoken exactly when needed.

Warmest condolences,
