Mr Phaup was a very decent man with just the right touch to communicate with kids who were just coming into their teens through to the advent of adulthood as seniors. He was our 7th and 8th grade basketball coach who taught us how to play as a team, lessons that carried through to those of us that went on to JV and varsity, where he would scout our opponents. He made me feel special as Im sure he did to so many others, having seen his effect on students coming out of his classes. He taught never with anger, always with consideration and always with kindness. I still recognize that smile.

Ill never forget his smiling face and how excited he would get into football and couching. RIP coach.

Coach Phaup was a great coach but even a greater human being. He was so encouraging and enthusiastic. He was loved by all the players on the football team. What I remember most was the respect he showed to all his students and athletes. May you be comforted knowing Pat was an inspiration to thousands of students and he will be long remembered for his selflessness and joyous personality.

My most sincere sympathy,
Rich McKeon

Well, he finally made it to that warm climate in Heaven, close to the sun.
May God rest his soul, and remember his kindness to everyone he knew. Rest in peace, Pat, a good, honest, gentle man.
Loving thoughts to you Frannie.
Merrily
