To Mary and the entire Smellie Family,

I am so sorry to learn about your brother's passing. Joe Mascolo, a former neighbor of yours, told me he played pick up games with Bob at Morley and that Bob was a really good athlete and a complete gentleman.

Thinking of you and your family during this very difficult time.

I was friends with Bob at Morley. I have many fond memories of him--he was a good childhood friend. We often played sports: throwing a baseball back and forth or pretending it was fourth down and goal from the one yard line and trying to score against each other. Attached is a photo from 5th grade when our class went to Sturbridge. Bob is back row center.

My condolences to family members.

To The Smellie Family,

My brothers and I knew Bob since we were kids, He was a very nice person and one of the smartest people that I knew. He was kind and always a friend to everyone. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I am very sad to learn of Bob's passing. We were good friends in junior high, both played town baseball, and he loved the game more than most. Some of my fondest memories with him were playing pickup games at Morley School in the summer, it was always lots of fun. Bob was one the the brightest friends I ever had--a math wiz as well as a well-informed person. The last time I saw him was years ago and he gave a a big embrace as true childhood friends often do.

We were also in his mother's Volvo the night we were hit from behind and the car was aflame after we all escaped.

Bob was a kind, good-hearted friend and I will miss him and all the conversations and experiences we shared.

Very sorry for your loss.

John Lewis
